Hi,

The related articles section displayed on the post page, will inherit the global block header style set in the theme panel
https://www.screencast.com/t/gvvNvOqw9aJ
https://www.screencast.com/t/APvhZ2Sos
The template set there in the theme panel will be overridden by the individual block settings, in the page edit screen
https://www.screencast.com/t/DeoQV290MVb
And also by the settings in the widgets section
https://www.screencast.com/t/zvdYiVRP

Thanks

Hi,

This code should work (for me it is working properly), it will place the logo on the left while the header ad will remain where it is
https://www.screencast.com/t/GenUQLzMv

.td-header-style-1
.td-header-sp-logo {
margin-left: 0;
margin-right: 56px;
}
.td-header-style-1
.td-header-sp-logo img {
margin-left: 0;
}

If it does not, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your website and login information. Also paste link to this topic in your email.

Hello

http://www.thebackpackertravels.com

I’m not using the mobile theme for mobile and I am happy with the views etc but I can’t seem to find how I can add some pages to the menu?

For example, via a desktop, I have two menus, Header Menu (Main) and Top Header Menu.

The mobile version of the site just displays Head Menu (Main) but I want to include the pages contained in the Top Header Menu.

Is this possible?

Hi guys, I would like to center the logo while maintaining the style “Header style 3”.
I tried with the following code but disappear the link that sends to the homepage and the logo clicks from left to center.

.td-header-style-3 .td-header-sp-logo {
position: static;
}

As I can do to center the logo, keep the link and keep it the “Header style 3”?
Thanks

I wonder how to implement ad code / snippets from Google DFP (Double Click for Publishers) into my Newspaper Theme using the Theme Panel->ADS. DFP is a powerful web server used for serving ads to end users. It is especially useful for tailoring by geolocation and other demographics.

A Google DFP tag is not a single tag as it is on AdSense. It has a header tag and a tag for the ad unit. The header tag contains information about the loaded ads, including their unique IDs, information that we will need in this tutorial.

In order to set up DFP, we need at least two ad units. The first is for the header tag and the second for each ad.

Is there an easy way to use DFP with the Newspaper-Theme?

Hi, I would like to edit the “Header template” of related articles, passing by “Block Header 1 – Default” to “Block Header 9”.

How can I do? Thank you

Hi,

You can try a code like the one provided below. It should make the homepage, category pages and posts have the container background color that you choose
https://www.screencast.com/t/shvOiA4EHjo
https://www.screencast.com/t/eMKNFFYdD
https://www.screencast.com/t/wJFTfgDt9h1
If you want to add more elements, you can identify them with the browser inspector and add their classes to the code
https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/
The code must be entered in Theme panel->Custom Css section

.td-header-container,
.td-main-content-wrap,
.td-category-header,
.td-category-grid,
.post {
background-color: lightgrey;
}

Thanks

Hello harmario,

Try the code below and place it in Theme Panel -> Custom CSS area.

The code is ->

.td-header-style-8 .td-ad-m{
border-bottom: 0;
}

Thanks.

Hi,

Glad you could customize the header style the way you want. To align the logo to the left side, you could use a code like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/L7xo8KCYx4Q2

.td-header-style-1
.td-header-sp-logo {
margin-left: 0;
}

Try it and see if it works properly for you.

Thanks

Most of it should be, assuming you’re running Apache/Linux. Note that the nice formatting of my code got kind of whacked when they moved to the new forum template…. soo.. might not be super readible/legible.

Kind of multiple threads going in my old mega thread — so, perhaps useful to work ‘backwards’ ?

a) some basic wp-config cleanups (add direct paths, memory change, image compression)
aa) htaccess stuff for common time to live, file type, redirect xmlrpc queries, etc.
b) some basic functions.php stuff to clean needless stuff in header of WP pages, remove stuff like XMLRPC stuff, some security stuff; remove ‘?’ queries on stuff (versioning);
c) optimize style.css with minifcation; compress main .js file per Google tool
d) consider moving to web-safe font stack and not loading ANY google fonts; have to hack out section in the main them booster function file, then search/replace the ‘font-family’ elements in the style.css (easier prior to minification, obviously)
e) put custom CSS bottom of style.css vs theme panel

advanced stuff included – un-enqueueing the main style.css, loading in footer; after generating “critical CSS’ with the critical CSS generator online; putting above the fold CSS in header.php (only way to remove render blocking css) ** not needed if moving to http/2 platform.

Super advanced peeps might choose to use mod-pagespeed, https, php 7, and http/2.

So, basically.. kind of a “test your speed,” (with *no* ads running); then make some mods; then retest couple of times, etc., rinse repeat.

I’m no longer using Newspaper – moved to NewsMag 3x last year entirely. Not yet on 4x. But also using TagDiv’s WPION thing as a beta test. (actually re-rendering thumbs for one test of that right now in other browser tab!).

Soooooooo….. basic Apache stuff, and WP-config.php stuff, and common sense thing for functions.php that do specific things — all useful. Good to research WHAT things do before using them.

Hi @neotrope

Oh, I see what you mean. Didn’t know it’s called like that.
Well,, there’s isn’t much one can do about expiration headers when these are external, right? Most of them are from google / youtune. Link

If you look at your GTmetrix score, note the item ‘enable browser caching…’ this is the ‘time to live’ that items should live in browser; such as your style sheet be cached first time and not reloaded every new page. See the various tutorials, and help on GTM for how to do that — it’s also covered in my long winded optimization thread in the docs > tutorials > best of forums section here.

If you look at your GTmetrix score, it appears you have the gzip settings okay.

However you have bad score for the expiration headers, or time to live, or browser caching — often referred to in those different ways.

hello

Thanks for your reply. C

Can you please check this link http://www.screencast.com/t/5pz2rIJmH I shared my screen header ads section.

https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Above process, I done the first process. But when I edit the .htaccess file 404 error is coming. Could you please guide me to fix this use.

What I done in 2nd option(Php.ini parameters) means “php_value max_input_vars 5000 php_value max_execution_time 300 php_value post_max_size 50M php_value upload_max_filesize 50M”

Add the above code directly in .htaccess file.

Hi,

For me best is style 1 🙂

I do some css modification:

<code> .td-banner-wrap-full,
 .td-header-header {
    height: 180px;
}
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo img {
    max-height: 160px !important;
}
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-logo {
    height: 116px !important;
}
.td-header-style-1 .td-header-sp-recs {
    margin: 43px 0 9px 0 !important;
}

Looks almost ok: http://prntscr.com/fx5ia4 on this screenshots. How align to logo img to left side?

If you need access to my website, open private box or I will send you access. My website need login and password to view.

many thanks.

Hi,

Some header styles have a required logo size, the logo should be uploaded in the mentioned size for best results
https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
Header styles 9, 10 and 11 do not have a required size. You can use any image size you want in these styles
https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/
There is no theme option to modify the header height. It can only be done with custom modifications. If you want to try, here is a tutorial about how you can use the browser inspector to identify the elements used on a page and their classes, in order to create custom code that you can use in the theme panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/

Thanks

Hi,

If a background color or image is set, then the website will become boxed in order to display the background. At the moment you can only stretch rows in pages using the composer, or the header and footer elements in the theme panel
https://www.screencast.com/t/Udnjs4zE0c
There is no option to stretch the body itself or container width. All the elements inside a page are directly dependent on the fixed predefined width, modifying it will probably damage the layout and result in problems.

Thanks

Hi,

I have inspected your website, but I do not see any Adsense code inserted in the header section at the moment
https://www.screencast.com/t/51vJAt8a1Tx
There is only the default link with an image. Please check the header ad section again and make sure the code is entered.
If you enter the code and the theme panel will not save it (enter it, refresh the theme panel page and check), please check the system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide, if necessary
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You could ask your hosting provider to make them for you, as they may have a recommended method in this matter.

Thanks

Hi,

There would be no need for such major changes. Please note that the Prepare time and other elements that you mention in this screenshot
https://www.screencast.com/t/Vs7Y5thB
These are simple HTML elements that have corresponding classes, defined in the Recipe demo
https://www.screencast.com/t/YEx1W8HtDyM
https://www.screencast.com/t/NOWNpUHE21L
If you want to achieve something similar simply recreate the HTML structure using the same classes and enter the CSS code provided above in the Theme panel-Custom CSS section.
You can find more using your browser inspector, to analyze the elements on the page, and their classes
https://www.screencast.com/t/J34akXLZz33o
https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/
Here you can find more information about post formats
https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-formats-for-tinymce/
Regarding the logo, the Recipes demo uses Header style 11. This header style does not have a limit for the logo size. You can use any image you like
https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/

Thanks

Hello,

I am trying to reproduce this part from the gadgets demo. Sadly, I couldn’t figure out how it’s done. I got this far using the “block 17” with “block header 12” for the title.
Obviously, the blocks look quite different.

The first image should have no excerpt
The secondary posts should start with a dot
The category label should not be visible.

Any suggestions one how to reproduce this?

I am choosing Template Settings – Force Full Width – Header Menu – Stretch Container, but menu doesn’t stretch. It does if I choose stretch with content.

Hi Bogdan,

I want it to look like this:

This is the global header design created by Voice demo as well. Not sure it designed the Template module-12 differently. Thank you.
