my website is http://www.financialthing.com I want to set the first link HOMEPAGE as home page but this page isn’t showing up under the Pages list:
It shows under the menu as a page:
I don’t understand why this page isn’t showing under the pages list so i can set as the homepage?
I’ve just started working with Newspaper, and have created a draft homepage, using grids. I’m now baffled about how to add content to the grid elements. Does this happen automatically from the most recent posts in different categories? If so, how can I do this manually?

I could not recreate this on my side even with Unique Articles feature enable. Please create a test page, copy the content of the homepage and send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a look, also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are and what your issue is. I have checked your site and you use pagebuilder with latest article template on your homepage, without content, just latest articles. You can control this from loops settings – http://screencast.com/t/FsNTwCOV
The theme uses the add_image_size() function and the featured image is cropped to different sizes. Also the image used on post page is cropped, here you can find all thumbs used by the theme – http://screencast.com/t/4weZ6lSkpKl If you want to change this you need to alter the code(to change the size or add a new size) here – http://screencast.com/t/Mkyyuly8o6vi The specific thumb is used on post pages – http://screencast.com/t/jodz2kpYM If make any changes please regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

Thanks to reply, I found the solution for the post… After some hours…
I have questions:
1 / What is the error on the right blok ? I just use template page with bloks, no shortcodes.
2/ Why on my blok “Economie & Finance” the menu is the main menu, I would like to have the su-category of this main category, I dont find that, and I dont understant why the main menu appear.
3/ How to ad link or menu to the top bar after the “date”,
4/ How to just test the template homepage of your theme without lost setting of my site ?

In my reply above i showed you how to place an ad in a static page (your homepage).
If you want to display ads only here, you will need to remove them from other parts of your site.

Proceed to what? If you followed my advice, you should now have an ad in the sidebar of your homepage. Isn’t this what you wanted?
For our newspaper website, we want to be able to feature posts on the homepage. Right now the default shows the most recent posts. Is there a way to select what stories are posted on the homepage?
Similarly, we want this same functionality for the different category pages.
It’s important that we control what gets featured as one of the main 6 images on either section.
Lastly, how do we prevent the featured stories from showing up right underneath the featured area? Is there a way to not show featured posts in the next block of stories? See image example:

I’m working with the latest version of Newspaper and my homepage starts loading nicely, and then seems to pause. At that pause, the only elements remaining to load are the thumbnails for three blog posts.
Can you take a look and let me know why my homepage suddenly halts when loading?

that code comes from the homepage. Straight from VC code from Newspaper 6.5.
I think it’d be fairly easy for you to add the missing values since most other blocks do have them (eg. the post blocks).
Your theme is great and your support and updates are always perfect.

What do I have to do to have smaller pictures on mobile devices especially on smartphone? Please have a look at my homepage on http://www.happyworklife.de There you can see, that the posts and everthing else regarding to the theme (Newspaper 4) is responsive, but the 3 pictures I included (yellow one, grey one and for newsletter) are not responsive. Same problem on site with the 3 yellow pics and the pic with me: http://www.happyworklife.de/coaching

I’m creating my website and I have issues with the background image when using category template 6.
All the images that I use get blurry! I even tried to use the same image that is used in the demo, both with 1688×1125 px, and they are still blurry.

Hi,
You can do this via custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css to reduce the margin and padding for module 8 – http://screencast.com/t/74JEKl0gn7Vr
.home .td_block_9 .td_module_8 {
margin-bottom: 10px;
padding-bottom: 10px;
}
This css is applying only for your homepage, if you want to have that css for all pages where you use block 9 just remove .home class.

Indeed, the homepage has a “load more” button in order to load the rest of the posts.
What was missing was the extra class in the VC row.
It works perfectly now.

If you create a page in visual composer you have to add an extra class (td-ss-row) to the row which contains the sidebar in visual composer. Check our documentation on the subject: https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/
I have also checked your homepage, but there is not enough content to scroll down to. The sidebar sticks to the top of the screen. In your homepage id does not even reach that point until the content is all displayed.

@colors issue – Do you use a cache plugin? try to clear the cache and see if the changes are active. Also check if the settings in Theme Panel are actually saving or they return to default when you get back in the Theme Panel area.
@excerpt (summaries) – i see you use the Homepage – with article list template , you have to edit the main page and change the module used, you use module 15 which displays the entire post, just chose one which comes with an excerpt – http://screencast.com/t/oL1fDyyg0G
@author box – you could create a similar author box and add it into the sidebar on the main page. Use html and custom css. It’s a blog and it would be strange to display an author box after each post on the homepage if the author is the same on all posts. if you refer to something else please provide more details.

We are trying to copy the design of the cover of our paper magazine to our digital magazine. To do so we want to use a revolution slider on our homepage. We would like to make a full page slider behind a transparent menu.
Would this idea with the transparent header be possible with the Newspaper theme? If so, how?

I have a grey box under all the post images on my homepage block. Is this because the featured images for those posts is too small or what? I want the full image transparent like in the demo with the post title overlay.
Hi tagdiv team! I’d like to place the WP subscriber widget instead of a third-party plugin into the homepage sidebar. So far, I see the opportunity to place the widget on each blog post through the template, but not sure how to do this on the main page.
