You are right. That’s exactly what is seen on Google Chrome’s developer tools.

But, when I look at the source code in text format, and also fetch with Google Search Console, I see code implementation as below:

<a

href="https://www.teknoblog.com/youtube-yeni-logo-tasarim-154325/" rel="bookmark" title="YouTube yeni logo ve tasarım ile kullanıcılarının karßısında" data-wpel-link="internal"><img

width="537" height="360" class="entry-thumb" src="https://static2.teknoblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/youtube-koyu-tema-yeni-tasarim-300817-537x360.jpg" srcset="https://static2.teknoblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/youtube-koyu-tema-yeni-tasarim-300817-537x360.jpg 537w, https://static2.teknoblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/youtube-koyu-tema-yeni-tasarim-300817.jpg 1074w" sizes="(-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2) 1074px, (min-resolution: 192dpi) 1074px, 537px" alt="" title="YouTube yeni logo ve tasarım ile kullanıcılarının karßısında"/></div>

As you see alt=”” part is empty. That’s why crawlers see images without alt texts.

By the way, the web site is http://www.teknoblog.com.

Hello,

Please add this css to your movile theme custom code section:

.td-footer-logo{
display:none;
}
.td-footer-description{
display:none;
}
.td-footer-social .block-title{
display:none;
}
.td-mobile-footer-wrap{
padding-top:1px;
padding-bottom: 38px;
}

There is no way to make it narrower unfortunately as there are containers there that hold the height of the footer and it will require code modifications in the php files in order to assign particular classes to these containers so they can be targeted with css. It will involve quite a bit of custom work just to get it a bit narrower.

Thank you!

Hi,

Then you must choose from Header styles 9, 10 or 11. These header styles do not a limit for the image used for the logo. You can use any image you like
https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
For example in this theme demo, header style 10 is used
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_cars/
Just make sure that when setting the logo when using these header styles, you select the full size of the image

Hello,
I am attempting to re-size my logo so that it expands across the entire header, however, it only wants to fit in the center instead of the width of the entire header. How can I make my header larger so that it comes down the page farther? Ideally, I would like my header to take up about a 1/3 of the screen.

Hi,

The logo headline can be changed as you like, in the Theme panel->Header section
https://www.screencast.com/t/e2XjJX6mN
A text logo or an image can be used for Header styles 9, 10 and 11. Other styles use only images for the logo. More information here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/

Thanks

Hi Chris,
I really don’t have the time for a long form debate on this. I will just add one more reply for the sake of the people you are confusing here.

“Google’s own information on their algo”

There is no information on google algo, these are just guidelines for webmasters, let’s not pretend your or me know how Google algorithm works.

So, if your site is “Giant Killer Puppies” and you do a page about “Best Food for Brown Puppies” then you can have h1 tag on your logo with site name in the ‘header’ section, and this is *separate* than the h1 tag for “Best Food for Brown Pups” which would *also* be used for referential links within site, inbound and social links, meta tags, and possibly alt tag for the hero photo on page.

it’s all nice and good theoretically, but when I removed this, my ranks are all coming back slowly across different sites.

https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/h1-in-logo/

regarding this, I don’t think they are penalizing for this, so you are correct. but this doesn’t mean in some cases this will not affect your ranks due to relevancy or god knows what. Anyway, google is nice to inform us but many times things are different on the field, you must know that if you are such a hot shot SEO

for anyone who’s websites, like mine, lost ranks because of this. Just change this and see how it affects your ranks and report back on this thread. This is the only way to really know.

Anyways, last response here. Time is money. I just come here when I need help and wanted the info to be here for those how need help as well, not interested in participating in a pissing contest.

FYI:
my prior rant on topic with references to both Matt Cutts answer before he left Google, and the Google Webmaster Tools (OFFICIAL) forum where it has been WIDELY discussed, and officially stated with HTML5 not an issue if page otherwise properly designed:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/h1-in-logo/

If it causes you issues, that may be unique to your content and nothing to do with how Google now works.

Actually, I’ve been doing SEO since 1995, and ran a leading company in that space from Jan. 1996 to Jan. 2005, and have 10 million impressions per month. But whatever… not wrong.

If you look at Google’s own information on their algo – you can have more than one h1 on the page with proper modern markup … the header section is separate from the article section, and the h1 for the site name on the logo is totally acceptable in the DOM for that.

Their algo looks at h1 for ‘content’ in the article area to match page content, and *that* h1 should match the meta tag for page title and be semantic to the content within the article area – the de-facto page content.

HTML5 specifically is engineered to support more than one H1 tag to identify the ‘header’ element per ‘section’ — h = header, not seo.

If your site is, for some reason on old HTML, xHTML, etc., then yes only *one* h1 tag per page is correct. Under HTML5, more than one h1 tag used within ‘sections’ is correct.

Again, anybody telling you otherwise doesn’t know what they are talking about and has not lived on Google’s dev site, or the HTML/W3C dev community as I do.

Duh.

If that doesn’t work for your site, you have some DOM / markup errors.

We use this methodology on 25+ sites with top ranking for all content, millions of page views, and we’ve been building sites for 23 years, doing marketing since 1981, and doing SEO longer than most folks on here had a web connection.

Share and enjoy!

Read up on HTML5, Google’s own help site, webmaster tools info (search console), PageSpeed Insights, etc.

Welcome to the ‘semantic’ web — using header tags in proper way, with good content helps SEO, doesn’t hurt it, and there is *no* penalty with Google for using h1 tags correctly in modern markup — where appropriate and not intended to ‘black hat’ the usage.

I won't be on this site anymore starting Sept. 1, so winding down my help here *forever* -- so take of it what you will.

Hey, so I finally worked out what the issue was. The designer exported the logo images at like 18000w by 12000h and once I took those images out it started working. I resized them myself and it is working now.

Really appreciate the help in trying to sort this out. All the troubleshooting was pointing to a theme issue but I never thought to take out images so my bad on that. Again, thanks for all the help!

Interesting Chris. I’ve seen different theories on this, things like not having more than 1 set of h1 tags. So are you saying to leave the H1 in the logo and then have another h1 for the page title (or designate the page title as an h2)?

I’m always keen to learn. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

Kind regards

I have a long winded explanation about this for those who don’t understand how HTML5, the DOM works, or semantic markup. You can search for it if you want.

An H1 tag on logo inside the header element simply indicates it’s the most important element within the header area, vs the article area or footer area. And falls back for text logo vs image logo.

It helps in identifying most important branding, link, site specific element within the header, vs menu links, and other elements such as logins, dates, search, super menus, etc.

It does *not* hurt to have it in the header area in modern markup.

Anybody who tells you it’s a problem simply doesn’t understand how modern ‘mark up’ works.

So, peeps can like chill out! 😉

I am using 8.1 Newspaper with Old Fashion Full Demo theme. In the Customizing / Site Identity section there is no Logo button, and facebook’s dev tools reports this issue/error:

////
Warnings That Should Be Fixed

Inferred Property
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Missing Properties
The following required properties are missing: og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

/////

When posting to Facebook the url: http://hallesque.com it using a post image as the site logo.

Any help on getting a site logo and the Facebook error resolved will be greatly appreciated.

Great theme, best around Newspaper 8 is!

Thanks….

I just noticed this as well. What was the logic in putting the logo in H1 tags? Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see how that could possibly help with SEO. Now I’ve got to go back and recode the H1 to a div. Sigh…
