How disable minify image effect at Home?

Hi,
I’m trying to improve the speed of the site, my mobile speed results are currently only 40/100
I’ve got Gzip on, I’m running Total Cache, I’ve compressed all images with EWWW
I have tried the TagDIV speed booster plugin with the steps outlined on this page
However, the list it produced didn’t seem to correlate with the actual page insight results (with the exception of a couple)

I’m wondering are able to provide a list of corresponding id’s for some of the above that I can try adding to the td-speed-booster.php file or should I just take every ID from the list and paste them into the speed-booster.php?
Any suggestions you can make would be greatly appreciated, I was considering trying Better Wordppress Minify Not sure is it’s compatible with the theme or not?

I have 2 questions:
1. Will this also work for Newspaper (the entire pagespeed post?)
2. It says you need to replace the original style.css file – can I just replace the minification in the editor in wordpress?

Have i gone too crazy with the amount of tools i use to speed my WordPress website with the Newspaper theme? Or will any of these options conflict with each other?
I have:
– Gzip compression (on my server)
– Optimized images
– Separate CDN for images (different company).
– W3Cache: Enabled Page Cache
– Basic method
– (may have more settings enabled that i’m not aware of. Not sure, configured it ages ago)
– CloudFlare
– Custom profile
– Caching level: Simplified
– Minimum expire TTL: 3 hours
– Auto Minify (Web optimization): JS, CSS and HTML
– Rocket Loader: Enabled
– Then all my security options are enabled.

Also i have another question: Do i need to purge the cache in W3Cache when i post a new post? So visitors can see it? Because if i don’t, it doesn’t appear on my visitors side for a few hours. Which means they’ve missed the headline news if they’re scanning my site and don’t have a direct link to post?

First of all i’m not a developer i’m a designer/new to wordpress:.I followed the guide by Chris S, it was little bit hard for me to understand all of that, english is not my main language.I did everything i could to improve my pagespeed.I get 89 on desktop and 74 on mobile.I asked developers at my work, they were unable to help or they just sent me away.

I have implemented everything in your optimization post now.
I have also minified the css files. Now my page speed is 82, but I guess Google Adsense is causing a lot most of the problems in terms of page speed.
Two questions: How can I minify the HTML and compress this image images/icons/newsmag.svg?
I would also like to exchange Roboto Condensed to the font I am using, Lato. I don’t want the theme to fetch Roboto Condensed from fonts.googleapis.com.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I just encountered this too. It is important to me that I can minify my site’s JavaScript. I have looked into this and the cause seems to be that site.js contains two “use strict” statements (on lines 1474, 2727, 3544, and 3988) where the following statement has not been ended with a semi-colon (i.e. there is a closing curly brace which needs a semi-colon after it).
If I make that change then this problem resolves itself.
However, I also notice that there is a min/site.min.js file. Is there a way to trigger Newsletter to load these minified files rather than the unminified ones?

I’ve searched the forums for a solution but found that most people had the megamenu working in at least a basic way.
I cannot get it to work AT ALL.
I’ve disabled all my plugins except VC and that didn’t help. I disabled “minify JS” in W3 Total Cache and that didn’t help.
And I’d swear that I followed the instructions in the documentation correctly.

If you use speed booster you have to paste it like in the image and then you have to minify all content of the tagdiv_theme.js here – https://closure-compiler.appspot.com/home
After that you have to replace the content of tagdiv_theme.min.js(this file is used by speed booster) with that code.

Guys, could do with a bit of help.
My Newsmag 1.6 site (I did not upgrade to 1.7 due to the reported increase in load times) runs on a LEMP installation with Nginx + PHP-FPM + APC + Varnish running nicely.
On top of this I use WP-Rocket to cache, minify, concatenate, and lazy load.
In so far that I can tell, everything works more or less.
I want to take it to the next level.
I have already used PUTTY and optimized nginx.conf, nginx’s pool.d, varnish’s default.vcl, php.ini, php-fpm etc.
I have already put in the strings to leverage browser caching both in .htaccess, nginx, varnish etc.
Strangely, some files are still not displaying cache expiry dates.
Any ideas on why certain .css and .js files aren’t caching?

If you disabled all plugins then the header problem would have gone away. The only other explanation, besides a plugin conflicting somewhere, is if you have custom code that is conflicting somehow.
I see you also use WP Fastest Cache. Turn off JavaScript minification and combination in the settings. That *can* cause this issue. NewsMag theme documentation says not to minify the .js because it breaks the code. You can leave on all of the other settings for WPFC, including the css minification and combination features.
Be sure to completely clear the cache, including the CSS and JS (the bottom option on the admin bar WPFC menu) after you change the settings.

I’ve seen the sticky posts about upgrading so I sort of already knew the answer, but wanted to be sure. I used the patch files myself. I’ll roll back my install to 1.6 as well, until someone can identify and safely remove the bug up 1.7’s butt.
There are a lot of optimizations that could be done, but I never get around to doing it. I rely on folks like you – with multiple sites generating primary income – for the optimizations I intend to try. My single site is a side-project that doesn’t pay any bills, so I’ve got much less incentive to pull my hair out (test and re-test various tricks).
That said, time to see about these mods you just mentioned 🙂
Do you use a service or program to minify the stylesheet? Manually compressing more than 20,000 lines is exactly why people procrastinate.
After 9 years with WordPress and 20 years with webdev… and the sticky post in this forum on how to upgrade the theme … um, yeah… I updated it with fresh version.
I have to do completely fresh version as I tweak the theme for some minor things like custom field for hit counter, remove the XLRPC thing from header, minify the style.css, remove the breadcrumbs from search template, and put in our custom functions for optimization and disabling some things like not loading the visual composer CSS on post pages, etc.
So, in theory all things being equal the 1.7 site should behave just like the 1.6 sites except with lazy loading on top.
And I never use child themes, and all files are uploaded with Linux/unix line breaks vs windows, etc.
(I’m an advanced user …. obviously …)
Hence my … what the hell, man reaction with the ENC site.
So… going to roll that back once I get couple more client things done.
Basically going to use our tweaked 1.6 version – same exact thing running musewire.
Of course the dbase for ENC is hideously huge, and 10x the size of musewire, but other than that …
We have 32GB RAM, 12 cores of XEON power, and dedicated gigabit switch in Class A datacenter (SoftLayer) … so, we’ve got the juice.
ENC has 512MB allocated to PHP. So… may I just say … “sheesh!” 🙂

Please also try this with all plugins disabled, also empty all caches/purge files (if you use CDN) then enable all of the one by one to see which one is causing issues.
We haven’t made any tests with the theme using this plugin so I can’t give you an accurate answer on this.
If the wp-rocket plugins turns out to cause this try going trough it’s settings as @Carel also stated above some settings cause issues.
Please also note that we recommend using W3 Total Cache use only Page Cache. (no database cache, no object cache, no javascript minify) and also please be sure that WordPress installation have enough resources to make the caches.

When I logged in Admin Panel, Megamenu and sliders (autp-play and slide) not working, If I not logged in only sliders not working, megamenus comes normal.
I have cloudflare(minify disabled) and wp-super cache too. My site url is http://www.tonlabilgi.com (Turkish). Thank you for any help.
Be sure to re-generate your thumbnails so they are smaller once you’ve added the code to your htaccess … if you’re using gravatars for author images, be sure to use my tip for that. Use my other tips to minify your style.css file. Etc.
Best bet is to have ONE file, so it is one less file for browser to load; however you should minify it to load faster.
The flash of unstyled text is more often from the custom CSS, and you can often fix THAT by actually editing the CSS in style.css vs adding bunches of things to custom.css panel.
Just make a record of WHAT you change to reapply with future theme updates.
In any case, that’s what I do 🙂

Yeah.
I would turn off everything except mod_pagespeed since it does the minify of HTML on the fly, removes comments, etc.
Use the tagdiv speed booster plugin which moves and enqueues scripts at bottom of page.
Use the functions.php file to add the remove query string code.
Use W3 cache if you don’t have mod_pagspeed connected to APC/opcache/memcache on the server (which can be configured in the master mod_pagespeed config file). But use the settings recommended by TagDiv.
example of some of my custom stuff in functions.php to remove query strings, visual composer credit, etc.

c) change default WP thumb compression from 90 to 50 (some like 60)
