I don’t use any minify plugin. My home pagination does not work either. I’ve disable each but nothing changed.

Those are the plugins I use:

Customize Admin
Disable All WordPress Updates
Disable WordPress theme updates
Duplicate Post
Facebook
Google Analytics for WordPress
Google XML Sitemaps
Jetpack
Plugin Activation Date
Post List Featured Image
Shortcodes Ultimate
tagDiv Social Counter
Wordpress Seo
WP-Optimize
WP Clone by WP Academy

Hello,

please try to disable your minify plugin. I think it interferes with our javascript.

Hello, congratulations for the template, very nice.
I installed the latest version 1.5.1
I have 2 problems, the first (in question) is that in the pages (not articles) do not display the comments.
The second is a problem with the function minify of W3 total cache, if enabled does not work research.

Radu, It would be nice to have a compressed option for speed or just assume that anyone that is editing the CSS should know that they would need to modify the compressed version as well.

Maybe just an option in the customizer to choose a compressed version of CSS or default being a uncompressed version.

NOTE: the only reason I don’t compress it myself is to avoid complications with updates since the theme is updated regularly. Not wanting to compress CSS manually twice a month.

If the worst issue I encounter with the theme is css minification I’m just fine so thank you either way

Hey Radu,

Would you think about giving us instructions on how to minify the css with a plugin like W3 Total Cache? I’ve tried it but those settings are quite complicated, but the plugin itself is extremely helpful.

Hello,

You can compress the style.css manualy using a tool like this: http://refresh-sf.com/yui/ we do not plan to add a compresor to the theme but we may add a compressed css option.

I’m a little bit afraid to add that because users will get confused when they change something in the uncompressed css and the theme doesn’t change because it’s serving the compressed version.

Will there be a minified CSS in an update? Currently any plugins to minify seem to break the website and having more than 4 CSS files seems to be a negative mark on Google SERPS as well as load time.

Thank you
Brandon

I wanted to start a thread for things that everyone notices that can be improved in the next version of the Newspaper theme.

1. Use asynchronous Google adsense ads script to Improve load speed and requests
2. fix mobile version when using an ad in the header
3. minify CSS and Javascripts to improve load speed and requests
4. Add Google+ to the TagDiv Social Counter

I will add to this as I find more things that could be improved. Also please add your own improvements.

I have installed WP Super Cache and WP Minify so far and it has improved everything a good bit. Next step was to see how the Google Adsense code is being added, did you use asyncronous or syncronous? If its not async you may want to update that in the next release since it seems to improve speed quite a bit.

Also an issue that I am having that I just can’t seem to figure out is my analytics is showing “Page Not Found” errors but not 404 somewhere. The error shown in analytics doesn’t seem to hit the 404 page though and was happening before any plugins where added. I am running WP 3.6.1 and just can’t seem to find the issue.
