It works; partly.

Still the images are not mobile friendly. I use 3 difrerent ads in 1 row. Each block carrying 1 custom ad but on the mobile version they’re not placed next to each other. It lists them from top to bottom.

Um, yeah. Test one of your pages with the image sizes not at ‘actual size’ with Google’s testing tools? Have you tested your site with PageSpeed or their mobile testing tool? Sites which don’t do well in mobile testing won’t be shown to mobile users!

Meaning there is more overhead for browser to resize images multiple times to multiple sizes vs caching the actual images at actual sizes.

However if it works for you, and you’re passing Google’s PageSpeed test and mobile test doing it your way, go for it — just not “normal” practice in modern webdev (I’ve been doing it since 1995 professionally, as a point of reference).

You can add AMP right now; we’ve been doing it since it was in BETA end of 2015, with TagDiv themes. Use the AMP plugin from Automattic, as it’s from the same people who make WordPress, and developed for pro clients on WP like TIME.com etc.

PWAs are primarily to serve data in separate app, which is not really part of normal ‘website’ theming. Generally you should decide if you want to serve an AMP version of the website or a PWA. But unless you have special use case, for “most” people the AMP version and a quick, clean “responsive” website, or mobile friendly sub-theme as with NP works very well.

Google will rank your site better ON MOBILE with AMP, as it provides option for mobile users with compatible devices (but not all) to see different version of site streamlined for the mobile environment. It doesn’t get seen by desktop users and the viewer must be using AMP compatible device/browser.

Responsive works with everything. Mobile sub theme works with all mobile browsers (aside perhaps from some micro browsers).

A PWA — in theory — can give you a multi-level platform to serve a mobile app outside of browser, then fall back to AMP, then to mobile sub theme, then main responsive theme.

Presumably this will take some planning and research to implement.

But you can get AMP setup in an hour. So, I’d start there 🙂

I’m not sure you can except possibly removing the mobile “viewport” sizes in the style.css as with any theme.

However, theme is sold as “responsive” and Google prefers you have a mobile friendly site, so “bad” to not be responsive, unless you’re perhaps using some kind of re-write plugin for mobile instead.

You can try removing the small viewport elements in the style.css file, as most likely solution. But, TagDiv might have better answer 🙂

Google will give you plenty of warning about when it will become a signal, just like with mobile friendly.

Yes, you should be planning ahead. But keep in mind you will be planning for an event that could be still 6 months away.

I feel like none of you are actually listening to what I’m saying.

I’m NOT advocating that the AMP version be identical to the DESKTOP version.

I’m advocating it be identical to the mobile plugin version provided by tagDiv which, as I understand it, was developed to be “lean and mean.”

I don’t want a responsive version of my site to be the AMP version. I don’t want responsiveness at all.

I want tagDiv’s mobile plugin with AMP compliance. That is it. Until this happens, I will continue to advocate for it. And, for the third time, the first news theme for WordPress that can offer a mobile experience (NOT a desktop experience) that is also AMP compliant will win my business.

To be validated as AMP content, it must pass Google’s AMP validation, and then added to separate “map” for mobile users in SERPS, and then they are presented *only* the AMP formatted version and NO other version. Also they get a lightning bolt element in SERPS to identify it’s AMP formatted and hence “speedy.”

The only reason we’re trying to explain to you how it actually works as some of us have actually been doing it for a year and a half.

But you likely need to experiment with this yourself to see “what actually happens” vs the theoretical idea you have in your head.

Spend some time on the Google AMP docs for more information.

Anyway — just food for thought.

Theme devs not going to add built-in support, likely, for many of the reasons already covered here by everybody who has already been down this road and are “doing it right now.”

AMP needs custom classes, compliant post meta code, special ad unit setup, custom hooks for plugins, no use of javascript stuff, https-only elements, etc., etc.

Yes, RuTube and another video from different channels on the site.

With Youtube the site shows well, but the other part of the video (50%) from other channels.
And why did the MobileTem ColorMag Pro show normally?

Installed temporarily “jetpack” “Mobile theme”, the video fits well on the phone and there are no errors https://search.google.com/search-console/mobile-friendly.
