Hi,

That must mean that you currently have/or installed a mobile theme plugin that is from a different theme version.

If you use 9.2.2 check in the theme package you have downloaded at the time and install the plugin found there, it is located in the plugins folder
https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/

After each theme update, all theme plugins have to be updated. In theme version 9.6.1 (latest) most theme plugins can be updated in the plugins panel
http://prntscr.com/n7rte7
There will be update buttons for the ones that do not update automatically.

From what I know there are no CSS issues like the one you mention at the moment, with the mobile theme. There were no other reports.

How can I recreate the issue on my end exactly? Let me know.

Hi,

Is possible that your code to make some conflicts for amp and mobile theme.
If I understand correctly you try to set this option and set the code here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Ks8s2uSflq if this was not working that mean your coed is not longer compatible with amp version.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

So you mean in the header? If you use the mobile theme plugin, this has it’s own header ad spot – http://prntscr.com/n7gbp4

If you don’t use the mobile theme it will be possible if you use a cloud header template
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All
These headers can be customized, you can build the desktop header and the menu header
Desktop – http://prntscr.com/n7ge7u
Mobilehttp://prntscr.com/n7ged6
So you can place an ad box element in desktop with the ad you want, and another ad box with a different ad in the mobile version.

https://tagdiv.com/mobile-header-newspaper-theme/

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

There were changes made in the theme, the old dedicated AMP plugin created by us is no longer provided.
Now the official AMP plugin and the mobile theme can be used. The AMP URL’s will be with /?amp at the end.

The /amp should redirect to /?amp so there should be no problem in this case. Try to re-save the permalinks and check again.

Thanks

Sorry but the new implementation requires /?amp.
This is the officially AMP implementation. The old one is deprecated and it will no longer work soon. The official amp plugin made this change in their new implementation.

Hi,

Make sure if you are correctly added your Ad Code in the ad section from the theme panel, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-ads-adsense/ Make sure that you Ad Code are correctly set up and it will take a while until the code to be displayed at the website, until the Google will index it. In the mobile theme, you can provide some useful screenshots with the error and your website URL so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thank you!

Hello,

I now use the mobile theme on my site.

The featured article will appear twice on the homepage.
See screenshot https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_pFzq38xxvOwn4VXWRImdgWrSAOXHiFE/view?usp=sharing

Do you have a CSS code that hides the featured article in the latest article list on the homepage (as on the desktop version)?

Many Thanks!

I’ve tried what I suggested above putting these codes into the header.php of the child theme but unfortunately – this means that the code doesn’t work on mobile OR amp pages. Obviously I need the code to work on mobile but be ignored in amp due to the errors.

Could someone from tagDiv chime in please?

Hello,

I have upgraded to the latest Newspaper theme version 9.6. I have also used one of the new headers that you have introduced starting v 9.5. However, I see the following problems after using it:

1. Header ads are not visible although I have turned them on, inserted the Adsense code in the theme panel.
2. I have also used the header for the mobile version of my theme. But on the mobile the revised header colour scheme, etc is not visible. I tried many options like deleting history, cache, cookies, etc but still the mobile version is showing the old version.
3. In the mobile version, the latest article is not listed on the home page — i.e. it shows the previous article as the latest article. For example, if I publish something new on Wednesday, it is showing Tuesday’s article.

Please help how to fix it.

Hi,

Usually when you are on desktop and you are redirect to a mobile version of your website it is a cache problem, I would suggest as a first step to clear the cache then deactivate the caching plugin temporarily. Then check if the problem is solved.
The WP Super Cache is one of the plugins that was tested with our theme and was fully suported by our theme; this is our list with tested plugins with our theme -> https://www.screencast.com/t/cmPkh9jba4sZ
How to use WP Super Cache -> https://tagdiv.com/wp-super-cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

The Gutenberg is now the new WordPress editor and this will be use as default when you make a new post, if you want to use the element classic from Gutenberg you need to add it -> https://www.screencast.com/t/TUwQI76tbNNM or you can install the classic editor plugin and replace the Gutenberg https://ro.wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/

Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, please deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

What kind of theme did you use? You have written to us on Newsmag forum. That theme does not support the Mobile Theme but only the Newspaper. Provide your website URL so I will be able to take a closer look at it and also so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thank you!

Hi,

Seems that grey bar is a padding set on the body of the website http://prntscr.com/n79qd3

I believe that top ad is adding it, so that when the page is loaded it pushes down the content – http://prntscr.com/n79r09 it should remove the padding when it’s closed however, but it does not – http://prntscr.com/n79rca

Without that padding it will appear over the mobile header – http://prntscr.com/n79rsb
so the menu, logo and search will not be seen unless the website visitor closes it. I could give you a code to remove that padding – http://prntscr.com/n79uer

body {
padding: 0!important;
}

Enter it in the theme panel -> mobile theme -> custom CSS code section.

Thanks

Hello tagDiv Team,

I’ve just updated our dev environment to the latest version of Newspaper + the mobile theme and followed the instructions to do so.

Unfortunately, when I add Analytics and JS code to the site under “ANALYTICS/JS CODES” in the theme settings it leads to AMP failure when checking via Google with many errors. It appears that the mobile theme is attempting to convert the code into amp-friendly without success. As soon as I remove the code from this section all the amp tests pass perfectly.

An example of the code I am using is below:

<script src="//static.getclicky.com/js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">try{ clicky.init(1234); }catch(e){}</script>
<noscript><p>Clicky</p></noscript>

<script async src="//sub.domain.com/js"></script>

Is there any way to tell the mobile/amp theme to ignore these?
If not, could I place directly into the header.php in a child theme?

Thanks

Hi,

1. Yes if you want to have the desktop content on your mobile version you need to use the “AMP” option from mobile theme.

2. You can check all those boxes, like in our documentation -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/ , by default are checked only few because more customer want to have in special amp on posts or pages.

3. We recommend to use WP Super cache,

4. All existing post/page will be automatically make amp if the box for those are checked in Map> General -> https://www.screencast.com/t/FL2E6AOwd6 -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QL0m2LL5Zq

5. If you are not using mobile theme with amp you can choose the native and paired mode for amp -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ScLq4L47td and the ‘validated urls’ and ‘error index’ will appear again, unfortunately those two options need a template for amp version and our theme do not have one, that’s way wee recommend to use only the classic mode -> https://www.screencast.com/t/G994kkdcnZ if you have mobile theme activate this will automatic handle the ‘validated urls’ and ‘error index’.

Thank you!

Hi,

That effect do not cause that problem, you need to way until your page/post is full load, after that your menu will work properly.
If you want you can follow our guide for increase page loading speed -> https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/
Or you can try the mobile theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

Please check our documentation for How to Make an AMP Ready Website with Newspaper Theme
-> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
Also please check our documentation for mobile theme automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
If you want to keep the desktop layout on mobile you can use from Mobile theme the “AMP” option https://www.screencast.com/t/jcbjyrjrjgW , and your website will have on mobile version the same content and design as on desktop, and only the amp post/page will have the mobile theme design.

Thank you!

Any guesses? I can’t tell if the issue is coming from the theme, the browser, or WordPress?
