Yep anything complex using a lot of javascript, custom fonts, columns, custom layouts, etc., are not intended for AMP. Again think “print friendly page” for slow mobile connection. So it comes down to basic UX think: if the “information” is most important, then AMP is great solution to not lose visitors due to page taking 30 sec to load.
This is why if *not* using AMP, it’s mission critical to “think” your post pages out as much as possible for speed with both Lighthouse check and Pagespeed check.

1. Pages do work, it’s just that while the mobile theme is active you have to create two versions for each page. One with the composer or in any way possible with the theme, and one with the mobile editor and it’s simple capabilities

So this plugin would be used only if you intend to display a simpler and lighter version of the website on mobile. If not, deactivate it and the same content from desktop will show on mobile.
2. Currently categories will appear there even if they have no posts. I believe this might change in a future theme update. Sorry for any inconvenience.

You can try using the Mobile Theme if you want to have a different menu on mobile version than the desktop version. Also, if you want to display the top bar menu on mobile version you should provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response/code.

That would be possible with the tagDiv composer. But you could also do that with some CSS in the Advanced CSS sections of the theme panel. In this example I used a code that will make the post title to have one size for desktop and a different one on mobile.

Hi everyone, I have a problem with the Mobile Theme plugin.
In practice there are two problems:
1) Using this type of theme for the mobile version I saw that the pages do not work. The page is loaded but the content is not loaded. A bit like if the call to the_content () function is missing
2) When you go to see a category under the name of the category also appear, in a smaller way, the names of all the other categories even if in those categories there is no post.
Is there a way to remove this view or at least limit it to the categories that have at least 1 post?

Hello, Is there a way to have a different menu set up for mobile. We have some of our menu items in the main area, and some in the top bar on the desktop version. But it doesn’t show the top bar items in the mobile version. I would like to set up the mobile with its own menu so it shows everything. How can we do that? Thanks.

Note that not all the settings are per view port, some are general and will apply at all times.
The block title colors are general, you could use some CSS to set a block title color for mobile only if you want that.

I have inspected your website on mobile and it seems to come to a left white sidebar which is temporary until full loading of your website page, sorry! Unfortunately, this is not a good theme behavior and this issue might come from your customizations and from your untested plugins used by you, like WP Rocket, for example. Please disable all of these, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

That is not possible unfortunately, the mobile menu is created and designed to be displayed only on phones (smaller viewports).
The mobile menu also does not show mega-menus. Even if it would be made to appear on larger viewports by modifications it will not be a pleasant user experience with it’s mobile intended functionality.
I believe there will be improvements to the current header styles in the future, to make them more customizable.

Recently noticed that my website has a slight display problem on mobile (I am using the mobile theme), the menu is not attached to the top (notice the gray space at the top in the screenshot). It’s not causing functional problems but is there any way to fix this?

Another quick question: Seems when changing block title and excerpt font color in mobile editor it changes font color on desktop. Is there a way to edit the colors individually?
Unfortunately that is not the white space I was referring to. As I had mentioned before, this error occurs on MOBILE ONLY!!! NOT on desktop as in your screenshot. And it occurs on all pages.

Heh. Yeah. I think it makes some kinds of content problematic, as we are selling services, so on our news pages, we also try to upsell people reading the news to use our services, which has diminished ‘experience’ on AMP.
I prefer a highly optimized responsive experience to AMP.
However, again, sometimes trying to read some websites like Autoweek with 50 stupid things loading, there is 30 sec delay sometimes to see first image, even on fast connection. So, there being able to just read article, see one photo, and couple of text only ads, would be preferable.
Nobody is obligated to use it, however, for some types of content on mobile, it can be beneficial.
I don’t think making the entire web ‘amp first’ is a good idea, contrary to what Google things. They do not own the web.

Welllll….. the main benefit is for slow edge connection mobile users; and since something like 80% of Google traffic is mobile, their thinking is that a slim line version of a page (stupidly it’s a lot like the old print friendly pages we used to do, so in many ways it’s ripping off the old school “simple print friendly version” page of olden timez).
For many things like company info pages, not useful as in a B2B setting you lose all the value of things like complex javscript elements and stuff like bootstrap layouts.
For our news pages we have 100 score with pagespeed and 100 seo score with lighthouse, running wordpress for the non AMP pages; so those work fine. However for our news pages, it is true the dumbed down version without our logos and branding and such, load faster if you’re on a phone with sloooooow connection, to not abandon the pages altogether.
So my preference is
> desktop – best experience
> desktop > responsive – iPad portrait, best experience
> mobile > resposive – best collapsing experience with same content/page materials
> dead slow in middle of nowhere visitor > AMP
on the other hand, why the hell would somebody want to read our news in the middle of nowhere on a connection that is one bar, and the speed is 1/50th normal?
So, on one hand it’s another stupid way of Google to put their ideas first, and on the other it’s useful for very slow connections, and if your content is useful in certain locations with slow internet for desktop, or 3G connections in general — it does make the page work. Still, they could have just said “hey, if you have print friendly page, we’ll drop back to that version…” and called it a day, which we’d been doing since 1996. (double sheesh).

When loaded, there is a big white space on the left side. Mobile ONLY. When I scroll down, the white space disappears and the page displays correctly but on onload it looks really weird.
