Hi, I inserted the same code for the mobile theme under the custom CSS and the footer still shows on mobile, is it an other piece of code I need for the footer not to show up on mobile ? Is this a support forum please or do I need to email ?
Hi,
How can I edit/remove the categories showing in mobile view under the title of the page here: http://imgur.com/PPwdrP0. Thanks!
Hello,
I’m not sure exactly how you want to create an app, but our theme offers a bookmarklet option so you can place an icon and add your site to the homescreen of the mobile phone. Here is the section where you place the icons: http://screencast.com/t/kqP1F9cZETi and then you can use ios or android to add he site to the homescreen and it will grab the icon you place in the theme panel.
Thank you!
Hi
The mobile theme was not intent to render shortcodes, it only render simple media added via wordpress editor. Its purpose was to serve a simple and lighter version of the site for mobile devices. For the moment we don’t plan to extent its functionality to much because that will defeat the original purpose. Our main theme already have a its mobile version which is responsive and render any type of content so it can be used if you want to serve content generated with Visual Composer on mobile.
With regard to a possible “mix” between mobile theme plugin and Newspaper theme this is not an easy task. Above suggestions cannot be implemented without customizations in code. Unfortunately we can’t provide custom work at the moment so if you really need this and you’re not aware of the steps the must be taken in order to achieve the desired result please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please provide a link to this article so we can inspect it and figure out why it cannot be seen on mobile. My guess is that you use visual composer to create the post and you use the mobile theme. The mobile theme will not render visual composer shotcodes. But this is just a guess until I can inspect your site.
Thank you!
Hi
Unfortunately the theme does not have an option to torn off the footer only for mobile devices. However you can use this css in theme panel > mobile theme > custom code > custom css to hide it for mobile:
.td-mobile-footer-wrap{
display: none;
}
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
Greeting,
I want to show ads at the site on mobile devices, Google Adsense requires that for this type of ad, the ad code in the HEAD tag, I have not found the template options that can be set at the HEAD
Is there a way to put this code.
Thank you.
Hello,
This depends on what element you use to show articles. If you use a standard block you can change the categories shown from block settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/ This affects the mobile version as well. If you use the mobile theme, then you cannot select specific categories for the homepage as he mobile theme uses a latest articles section that displays the latest posts from all categories. At the moment there is no such option for the mobile theme so if you require your mobile site to display the same articles as desktop, then you can disable the mobile theme plugin. https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
Hi,
Our demo does not use the mobile theme. There is no demo of the mobile theme at the moment. Your homepage shows a grid with 3 featured posts and the latest articles section. Please read this guide to learn more about the mobile theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
Hello,
The standard embed feature done by pasting the video url in the post content is tested to work with the mobile theme. I tested it again and there is no need to use the [embed]YOUTUBE_LINK[/embed] method as youtube videos work on the mobile theme just by pasting the youtube link inside the content.
Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. There could be a conflicting plugin that causes the issue.
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately the mobile theme will not show widgets shortcodes or any elements that are heavy on page speed. The mobile theme was created to provide the best speed on mobile while maintaining the style of your site, but unfortunately if you use widgets based on shortcodes, they will not show up on the mobile theme.
Unfortunately there is no easy way to make them show so if you require your site to look like the desktop version, we recommend disabling the mobile theme plugin.
Thank you!
Hi there,
My website has lot of pages and as I know, Mobile theme does not support Pages. If I Activate Mobile Theme, then all the Pages appear Blank. As a result, I cant use the Mobile theme.
Are you planning to resolve the above issue soon? Any time frame? If not soon, then is it possible now:
1) Mobile Theme = Inactive,
But Mobile editor is Active to create your page. So, once all the pages are up-to-date as per mobile theme, I can activate the Mobile editor.
2) Mobile Theme = Inactive,
But automatically, the Mobile editor converts the pages as per the Mobile Theme, and the user can edit it, if required.
3) Mobile Theme = Active
But it does not show any Pages except, the Main Page (So that no blank page appears)
Best Regards,
Hello,
Unfortunately the iOS bookmarklet was not included in the mobile theme code so for the moment the bookmarklet will not work with the mobile theme active. We will add it in the next update for the mobile theme plugin though.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yesterday I posted 1 new article, if I go to my website by using my phone, I cannot see that new article. However, if I use the computer, I can see that.
Why ?
Hi, can you please advice on how to turn off footer for mobile device? Desktop turned off but couldn’t turn off mobile.
Two methods i have tried so far :
Newspaper->Theme panel->Mobile Theme-> Footer Menu (= No Menu)
Newspaper->footer-> Show footer=off
Thank you
I figured it out on the desktop, but can’t get the mobile page to display just selected categories.
I installed newspaper successfully as well as all the plugins. However, when I change my chrome browser to a mobile device (iphone 5 or 6) my installation doesn’t look like the tadDiv live version: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/#. I wish I could attach a couple of images to show you. Perhaps I can email them? I need to know why it doesn’t match.
Thx,
Mike
My suggestion đ
open: /wp-content/themes/Newspaper/mobile/single.php
find:
echo $td_mod_single->related_posts();
replace:
$exclude_codes = 'youtube|vimeo|video|playlist|embed|twitter|facebook|google|audio|wp_caption|caption|gallery';
$the_content = $td_mod_single->get_content();
$the_content = preg_replace("~(?:\[/?)(?!(?:$exclude_codes))[^/\]]+/?\]~s", '', $the_content); # strip shortcodes, keep shortcode content
echo $the_content;
Now:

But why not working youtube url to embed ?
this working: [embed]YOUTUBE_LINK[/embed]
But this not working: YOUTUBE_LINK
Thanks đ

HI
I still cannot duplicate the issue on my side and I can’t inspect it. When I access the site from mobile devices the logo is displayed fine. Please make sure that you access the site using one of the browsers included in this list: http://screencast.com/t/7QNRdSgsZZ Also if there is any specific configuration that must be followed in ordere to recreate the issue please provide more details about it.
In the mean time try to deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer then test the site again.
Thanks!
Hi. i’ve just installed mobile theme plugin, and now the icons are not recognize anymore. If some one, for example, try to put from iPhone the website on his home, there’s not website logo, just the little screen of website home. Why? i’ve put all the images in the proper section “Logo & Favicon” “Logo for mobile” “iOS Bookmarklet”
Hi
Mobile theme can’t be activated only for some specific pages of the site, it can be used only for the entire site. To make it control only some parts of the site are required some customizations in its core files. This is a complex task which involve lots of customizations in order to be achieved. We canât offer customization services at the moment so if you really need this and youâre not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.
Thanks!
Hi. I have a lot of pages on the web and I want them to look like normal navigation on mobile without having to adapt, without using theme for mobile pages, such as Home Page. It is possible that the mobile theme only works for categories and articles from the web … The intention is to harness the speed of the mobile template categories and articles.
Thanks for the reply and sorry for my English
Hi
@Sandman we’re sorry for this inconveniences.
We always test the theme with latest version of each specified browser because we assume that is most stable and with the security updates made. Most of our customers use updated versions for browsers which give a safer navigation on the web and we focus our attention to make the theme compatible with nowadays versions.
The only exception is IE. We still test the theme with older version of IE because is still quite popular.
However using an old version of any browser involve some risks as @Chris pointed above and some modern features may be incompatible with it.
A possible solution for this bug would be to remove the animation for Opera browser. Like that browser will not have to handle that animation. To remove the animation edit td_js_generator.php file and add this code here: http://screencast.com/t/5L76KylJ
if ( navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Opera') >= 0 ) {
htmlTag.className += ' td-md-is-opera-9';
}
Also you’ll need this css in theme panel > custom code> custom css:
.td-md-is-opera-9 .td-menu-background,
.td-md-is-opera-9 #td-mobile-nav {
left: -100%;
}
.td-md-is-opera-9 .td-menu-mob-open-menu .td-menu-background,
.td-md-is-opera-9 .td-menu-mob-open-menu #td-mobile-nav {
left: 0;
}
.td-md-is-opera-9 .td-search-opened .td-search-background {
right: 0;
}
.td-md-is-opera-9 .td-search-background {
right: 100%;
}
Thanks!
Speedboster disable itself automatically because – incompatible plugin detected: akismet/akismet.php
