Hi Guys
Still enjoying the amazing theme…
If a user decides to move to a responsive mobile menu – using a plugin – but ONLY showing the plugin menu on mobile devices – most plugin authors give a box that needs the user to deactivate the ‘main theme’ menu on mobile by its class id
How do you do it on Newspaper 6? – how to disable default theme menu when using a plugin menu – only on smartphones/tablets?
So desktop is not affected by the change
thanks it works it’s great I have a last question after I leave you, you can disable some widget or no for mobile version?
thanks
Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that on mobile version appear some js errors in browsers console: http://screencast.com/t/xcsqbBd1f5kf This errors seams to be related with theme’s js. Try to update that theme at the latest version available on themeforest: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ clear all caches and test again.
Thanks!
Hi Newspaper,
Website: http://senhorcabo.com/
Newspaper 6 and WordPress 4.4.1
My boss is looking to add a link at the bottom of the website on mobile devices where we can switch between mobile view and desktop view.
Can someone please help me with this? Is it even possible?
Thanks
Tyron Frahm
You’re still not addressing the issue. On the page there are two modules — both using td_module_2 — that use featured images. One is sourcing featured images from posts, the other from pages. The original image sizes are the same dimensions. The *post* images on mobile look great, the *page* images are low res.
Tested on devices from iPhone 4 to 6. All with the same problem.
Your theory about images being ‘stretched’ to fit would make sense if it was consistent. It’s not.
I don’t know how I can make this any clearer.
Please email me and I’ll send you a link to the development page.
Hi
Usually the size of a feature image from post can’t be the same as the size of featured image used on modules. The theme uses thumbs to keep the page size as low as possible. For example the same a featured image displayed on td_module_mx6 will have a 238x138px size: http://screencast.com/t/QYUnc0y5PUR and when is displayed inside post content, default template in this case, the size is: 640x426px: http://screencast.com/t/P3ffwJEZ2Us Basicaly from the original image the theme crops different thumbs which are used in different modules and blocks.
The theme uses the same thumb for mobile version but in many cases the surface which must be covered it’s bigger then the thumb size. For example in this situation the featured image it’s smaller then the surface which must be covered and because it’s stretched by css its quality it’s a bit lower: http://screencast.com/t/BvRx8GzjlALm That usually depends by mobile device size.
Thanks!
Hi
Ok right. Yes, the website is http://www.futbolday.com
The block is 18, I have it as main article on the top of the site.
For example, I have a long title at this moment and it can´t be displayed correctly on mobile due to its size.
Thanks

Hello
I have checked again the code and everything is correct, but the font size has not changed on mobile.
There is a warning on line 3, which display “use of !important” I don´t know if this is the problem. I would like to solve this problem because the title appears very big on mobile.
Thanks
Hi
Sorry for this inconveniences!
Basically all plugins are made to work on a wp default theme but on a custom premium theme such as newspaper, which contains many customizations and specific implementation for its features, would be a chance to appear some issues with plugins functionality. The conflicts appear because plugins and themes are written in many different ways, depending by author, and one feature from a theme may conflict with some other feature from a plugin.
Regarding the images and jetpack, absolutely do not use the photon feature of jetpack. I know jetpack is tested to work with our theme but not all of it’s features work. The photon feature cause this issues because works on the same system as the theme: it create and use new images thumbs based on img element size. Jetpack has lots of features and some of these create problems with our theme. The 2 known to cause problems are the jetpack mobile theme and the photon option.
I did not recommend using photon at all. I recommended you use jetpack but NOT with the photon feature. It does not work with the theme and it will not work in future updates as well unless we change our whole image implementation.
The smart list feature it’s tested ans works fine without photon module activated: http://screencast.com/t/8b7DhIFIKC5LTry
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi
The theme uses thumbs and for mobile devices to display the featured image: http://screencast.com/t/CDiVjcOMmSPF However the css is different depending by module layout. In some situation the image it’s stretched by css to fit the entire thumb area and its quality may be affected. You could try a plugin like WP Retina 2x: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-retina-2x/ to improve the images quality on mobile devices, or if this doesn’t work as expected try a bigger size image and see how it works.
Thanks!
Hi,
I tested the code again on and it seems to work as expected. I set it to change the font size to 10 pixels on the mobile version only: http://screencast.com/t/obXSjeFFci
Please check any other code you may have in your custom css box to see if there are open tags that might cause problems.
Thank you!
Salutare Bogdan,
This issue is a well known one to us. It is caused by the jetpack mobile theme. Please deactivate this option and your website should return to normal.
Thank you!
I’ve noticing that on mobile, featured images from pages are much lower res than
featured images from posts.
Taking a closer look, I’ve found that a post featured image on modules on mobile
will be using the image with an orignal size of 1050 × 500, while a featured image for a page will be using an image that’s 324 × 160 or 324 × 235 depending on the module.
Recommended fix?
Thanks
Hello
I have introduced the entire code in the custom area and anything happens. The title size is the same and it hasn´t changed yet on mobile.
I also cleared cache.
Thanks
Any updates on this? I am still trying to align ads on mobile devices. This problem happens on my test site, as well as live site… and both sites have different configurations as far as plugins etc.
Wait, there is a problem with the logo on mobile? I didn’t notice. any idea why?
I tried disabling some plugins… ads still align right instead of center. Odd. Could be all the css ive been adding based on your recommendations over last few days perhaps?
Salut,
I have a problem with the theme when I open it on mobile devices.
The problem is that the theme shows the code not the image.
You can check this at mobile friendly test

I wait for your advice,
Thanks,

Hi,
If you want to input the code in the phones area, then you have to remove the @media part. The code already contains the mobiles viewport specified so you can introduce it directly in the custom css box, not the advanced one.
Thank you!
And also the Mobile version of the ad dont show up at all
Hi
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches including the mobile device cache memory then test again. If the problem persist please provide your site url so I can inspect it closer.
Thanks!
Hi
It is article bottom ad. Se picture. Desktop ad is centerd and becomes cutted.
I want desktop ad left aligned and mobile ad centered
Hello
we have had a problem in these days. For the 1st time we have choosen the post type “video” for a post. The Big-Grid block shown a triangle on the thumbnail to inform it’s a video post. ok.
The Desktop version worked as usual, the mobile version instead (tried on iPhones and Samsung Galaxy) was not showing any picture (thumbs and inside articles).
Can you please verify?
Fabio
I want to add word “Menu” next to menu button (I mean top menu) when we view in mobile, Can you tell me how can I do it?
Hello gunner05,
I’ve checked your website and I saw the problem with your logo on the mobile version. Please ensure that you have installed only the plugins that come bundled with our theme without others because this issue it might be caused by conflicting plugins. I suggest trying to use a normal ad, without AdSense and see if your problem is still there…it is possible that the problem come from Google Adsense. I have tested on my side and every ads seems to work as expected.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes after these afterward.
Thank you for the message!
