Just install and run Force and regenerate thumbnails. Because you need to create every thumbnail for your imagenes and for now are using existing old thumbs from your old theme and this dropping dramatically your pagespeeds ranks
I’m using newspaper 7.4 and when I first instaled “Default Demo”, then thumbnails did not generated. Then I used Regenerate Thumbnails and still I can’t regenerate thumbnails. My upload folder has permission, I can upload images to there but thumbnails don’t work. Sorry my bad English.

From page source it seems that you didn’t made any changes for module 2, there is only the default css for it. Please make sure that the settings from theme pane are properly saved then try to add a single block on a test page and do a few tests with it. I am not sure how did you changed the thumb’s size as the theme does not have an option in this regard. If you made the changes in theme’s code note that you need to regenerate the thumbnails so the new sizes to be applied.

Hi, i have just noticed, since i updated my site that i have no thumbs on my mobile site when viewed on my android phone, it says enable thumbs from block/module, and i have sign in turned off but it is still there and my ads have disappeared…..ive reinstalled mobile plugin and regenerated thumbs and rechecked all sliders in theme panel but it still remains the same?

New uploaded images are directly cropped as Newsmag requires, while the old ones will be used to their full size if the required thumb is missing.

About six months ago I moved from Blogspot till WP and imported all ald posta to WP. The imported posts look much better with the Newspaper theme than my old theme, but still some improvents can be done.
– All imported pictures are now left margin placed in the post, should be centered
– Some line breaks are missing (no space between the text sections or text section and picture)
– Some line breaks are double (extra space between two text sections or two pictures)
Also, my imported features images from Blogspot are in the format 4:3, and some of them are in portrait format. I have regereted all my thumbnail using “Regenerate Thumbnails” which made them look perfect; do you have a “Regenerate Featrured Images” plugin converting all my features images to 3:2 landskape format?

Please take a look over the below explanation and try to understand a bit how it works the thumbs in the theme. Please check here ->>
Our theme uses the system of cropping from center to top. The theme uses thumbs to reduce the page size and speed up page loading time. From each image uploaded are generated thumbs for each thumb size used by the theme. Basically, when a post it’s displayed on the page in a block, the featured image displayed is not the one which you uploaded in the media file, it’s a thumb cropped from the original image at the precise dimension. To change the picture orientation most likely you will need a different cropping system. We use a WordPress function – add_image_size() – you can read about it here – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size – and here – http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/
Our theme crop (cut) thumbnails in some cases to avoid creating a lot of thumbnails in order to reduce to load more spaces on the server.
If you don’t have the possibility to upload large images you could use a combination of plugins to upscale the thumbs – Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate. Since a few days ago I realized that the most views in the last 7 days no news corresponian with what he should, today I put to look at it and effectively.
After tinkering for the database I deleted the post_views_count_7_day_last_date field and ohhh now do not leave the news more view the last 7 days, only leave those of those later news operations in the database How I can regenerate the post_views_count_7_day_last_date field for all news?

Thanks for your reply. Ok, i can see the thumbnail sizes in the theme options, But i still didn’t get it.
1) For example, i can see the thumb size (100×70) is used for: Module 6,7 and Block 1, 2, 7, 8, 16
– What does module 6, 7 refers to? Is it in the prebuilt demos?
2) On my home page, i’m using one of the pre-built demos.. and in the visual composer editor, i can see “Big Grid 7”, as shown here: https://s31.postimg.org/uldmsstwr/Visual_composer.jpg
– Does the Block 7 in the theme options refers to the Big Grid 7 in Visual composer?!
3) The image i’ve uploaded earlier as a featured image was 504 × 544 (which is a large image, however it wasn’t showing right as shown here): https://s32.postimg.org/bdub5yp79/image_resize.jpg
So, my other question is: What is the recommended image size for featured images to show correctly on homepage? without having the need to regenerate thumbnails?

You can try to regenerate your sitemap and submit it again to google after you delete some posts/pages. The errors won’t dis-spear immediately from webmaster console because google need some times until will re-index the site again.
Yes you could do a clone for 404 page but to achieve that you will need a bit of codding. In general you could use the same code as for 404 page and change/customize the layout where you thing is needed.

The theme does not control the informations displayed by google in SERP, it depends on google if stars rating are displayed or not. When you make major changes in site’s html structure, like switching from one theme to another, google crawler needs some time until will understand the new structure and some infos may not be displayed for a while. I’m asking if there is an option in the theme to automatically stretch the image to fit into the squares on home page layout?
I know that “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin can bulk resize all thumbnail images, however it is not convenient to regenerate the thumbnail after posting every post (because the featured image usually doesn’t fit in there)
I also don’t know what is the recommended image size for it to show correctly on homepage!

I am using block 5, 11 and 20 and the child theme Wedding News.
I have regererated all thumb nails using “Regenerate Thumbnail”, but I do still not see any images when loading the site on mu iPhone. http://test.ladiesabroad.se/
Also on my mobile I only see “Lastest Articles” and not the same blog posts as I have configured to be seen on the web version using the blocks. Is it a seperate place to configure which blog posts to be shown on the handheld devices? Or does the blocks only work on the web?

I regenerated all thumbnails, but “portrait” images like this aren’t cropped. I also noticed that sometimes images are not cropped exactly from the top, some “heads” are cut, but at the moment I don’t have an active link.

Jetpack by WordPress.com (running only protect and photon) – I’ve tried disabling and enabling photon countless times to see if it’s because of it, it is not.
My head hurts. What I expected to be an easy extract and install press of a button turned out to be hours of testing to see what the hell is wrong.
Already did some search on your forums before making this post. If you’ll recommend me to turn off image loading animation effect(lazy loading) won’t cut it for me as it was the major point that sold me your theme. Running your theme only with your recommended wp plugins also won’t cut it.
For the moment I’ve stopped using your theme. Will try it on a clean wp install in the next few day (even if does work won’t solve my current problem).
Till then, I need your help.
Not an issue with the theme but more a question for the developers/community: what’s your preferred caching setup for Newspaper? What do tagDiv run or recommend as an ideal setup? And has anyone experienced random downtime using WP Super Cache?
I’d used WP Super Cache in the past but had issues with my site going offline, which I tracked down to the plugin (although I couldn’t tell why). W3 Total Cache is my favourite caching plugin but isn’t approved for use with Newspaper, and as such has caused me issues with the newspaper dashboard (wiping settings).
So I’m back to WP Super Cache, and the random downtime has returned. Jetpack reports the site went down 6 times in one day, for between 5–13 minutes. Has anyone else experiences this? Google Search console doesn’t seem to show any connectivity errors, but the downtime is so quick I’m not sure it would. I have on occasion been able to confirm the site is actual down, so it doesn’t seem to be a false positive from Jetpack.

Disappearing images are mostly caused by plugin conflicts so please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.

I just can’t figure out how to get the images touching the edge inside the container like it is in Post Setting Style 3.
I have tried everything, disabled plugins, Force regenerate thumbnails.. everything. What is even more confusing is when I uploaded the theme again and installed the content that is already in.. the images that are filling out the container are not even images in the media library.
Can you please explain more on this as I’m totally dumbfounded.
