Hi,

2. Your image width must be at least 745x483http://screencast.com/t/Ohpp7LDCNPwx to fill the whole container. If your featured image is smaller, please note that WordPress doesn’t enlarge images and you will need to use plugin like Thumbnail Upscale to enlarge thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ For upscale use a combination of plugins Thumbnail Upscale + Force Regenerate.

Or you can enlarge it via custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css: http://screencast.com/t/IirORJvZT

.td_block_big_grid .td-big-grid-post-0 .entry-thumb {
width: 100%;
}

3. You have to set your sidebar(create and set it/or use default) for articles – http://screencast.com/t/uc2GFE896yX and add widgets to it from the Widgets section – http://screencast.com/t/2IeVvKc5
Also for your pages you can use Widgetised Sidebar for your page content – http://screencast.com/t/2f7bKm2Dsh and for latest articles you can set the sidebar – http://screencast.com/t/iP3xaAkR

4. I have checked your homepage and you have an header ad and a sidebar ad. You can use Ad box block to display an ad in your page content: http://screencast.com/t/e6XneHoo0su
Also for your post you have to paste your code in Theme Panel > Ads – http://screencast.com/t/Nlgv9TjDNTAL and they should be displayed in the article content.

5. I also checked an articles from your site and the comment box is enabled – http://screencast.com/t/uzredDWbppt
Seems that you solved the issue – http://screencast.com/t/za78u9vbArQ

Thanks!

I did regenerate thumbnails, but I am doing that again.

But what do you mean “turn “on” the sizes for the modules for thumbnails”?

Thanks!

Did you regenerate your thumbnails using the ‘force regenerate’ or the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin.

Did you also first turn “on” the sizes for the modules for thumbnails ?

Hi,

Please make sure that you have enabled thumbs on modules and blocks – http://screencast.com/t/Q1nSeExPRx
Also if you want to change the size of thumbnail for some modules/blocks, you can do it from td_config.phphttp://screencast.com/t/Cr7RA9dla and then regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/

Thanks!

Hi,

If your featured image is smaller, you will need to use plugin like Thumbnail Upscale to enlarge thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ For upscale use a combination of plugins Thumbnail Upscale + Force Regenerate. As WordPress doesn’t enlarge images.
Or you can use custom css to enlarge it if is not much difference between container width and image. Try to add width 100% to the image:

.single_template_4 .td-post-featured-image .entry-thumb {
width: 100%;
}

Thanks!

Hi,

Please make sure that cropping option is enabled from Theme Panel > Block Settings – http://screencast.com/t/i3nKippi and regenerate your thumbnails (if you make some changes there) using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks Chris!

@Lewis
Make sure that you regenerate thumbnails as Chris instructed you, let us know how it goes and also provide your site’s URL so we can inspect this.

Thanks

Well, I think this is covered in the them docs, but once you install the theme, you need to use the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin (not included) — this sets all the image thumbnail sizes for the theme, which may be different sizes than from your prior theme.

see
https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

🙂

edit: I guess they now recommend the “force regenerate” plugin; but either way does same thing.

edit 2: and I guess they got rid of the “why don’t my images fit” topic that was once in the docs. Guess they are rewriting everything to make it better and dumped some of the oooold stuff.

assuming you did a ‘regenerate thumbnails’ with that plugin after install,
for all NEW images try using this: (it’s what I use)

thumbnail upscale
https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/

Clear all your caches.
You can also try to regenerate your thumbnails if your images were being loaded via CDN/cloud.

Regenerate thumbnails plugin fixed the issue. Thanks for help:)

Well… looks like some of your images are NOT actually there …
404: http://meteoserwis24.pl/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/15045201-100×65.jpg

The plugin doesn’t “destroy” your thumbnails and images only moves JS to footer and enqueues elements for better page loading.

Suggest:
a) turn off all plugins except visual composer
b) clear server cache; refresh CDN or similar if in use
c) if thumbs not back, use the regenerate thumbnails plugin

Hi,

I have edited your post and removed wp-access as this is a public forum and you should not provide credentials here.
I have also checked your site and there is no margin there, the width of the images is smaller than it should be: http://screencast.com/t/xLIhwOEj2hGhttp://screencast.com/t/hDEGSKSK So please regenerate your thumbnails using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ and see if this solve your issue.

Thanks!

If you are going to regenerate thumbs, then changing the default compression level in functions.php good idea.

For your “main” images you likely need to use something like smush.it (I don’t use, don’t know).

Alternately you could download via shell from server, then run something like “caesium” software on image folder, then reupload to server.

I’m using post style 3 and that featured image size is 1074 x 483, which is fine for desktop. But when I debug my site on mobile I see that the featured image size used on the posts is still the 1074 x 483 size. Shouldn’t the theme be using a smaller image size, since mobile screen aren’t bigger than 767px? I’ve regenerated all thumbnails and image crop on post settings is on. Is the mobile featured image supposed to be that big? The featured image on mobile could easily be one of the smaller sizes generated by the theme! Loading those big images on mobile has a negative impact on page speed and uses more bandwith over time!!

Hi,

There isn’t an ideal image size so it can look good on all thumbs, the image size for a basic post we use this dimensions: 1021 x 580px. You can find here all thumbs dimensions which are created and used by the theme on module/blocks thumbs and sliders http://screencast.com/t/ZZntCVQJW
Also depends the blocks/modules that you use for aspect ratio and you have to do some tests and see what aspect ratio to use.
Like you can see also in you example on module 6 your image looks fine almost not cropped – http://screencast.com/t/hmGDctpa , but if you take a look also at this image it not looks the same – http://screencast.com/t/mNdgsPr281Wp So like you can see this depends what image size you use, you have to test this like I said above and see what image size to use depending of blocks/modules that you are using more.
If you want to change the height for module 1please change height here – http://screencast.com/t/gDCZYhPO and then please regenerate your thumbnails using this plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/

I also tested this with your image – http://screencast.com/t/onwq87FzHQhttp://screencast.com/t/TqeitYnsh

Hope this helps!

Added a tagdiv gallery at the bottom. All the images are out of whack. Looks like the wrong thumbnails are being used. I have already regenerated all the thumbnails.

Hi,

The image need to be at least 745x483 which represents the big image thumb size and the image needs to be of that width to fill the whole container. Hi,

We use this size of image (300×194) and use css to make it small to not cut so many images also on 200×130. Like you can see that thmub size is used on more blocks – http://screencast.com/t/KfhxeDOV6 but if you want you can create something similar in td_config.phphttp://screencast.com/t/aU3WEMID8Pka and use it in td_module_mx4.php used on block 16 – http://screencast.com/t/upVDPQSKAo
Please regenerate thumbnail if you make this change: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/

Thanks!

Tks Alin,

About the ads management:

2. There’s a problem with your ads manager, for the ads in articles, you can access this url:

hxxp://concursospublicos.ninja/tecnologo-pode-prestar-concurso/

I used the “article top ad” with a 336x280px ads, and is appearing a horizontal ads. And in “article bottom ads” I used a responsive ads.

In the homepage I used:

– a 728x90px in custom_ad_1 after the header block named “em destaque” and a responsive ads in custom_ad_2 after the block named “preparacao”.

As you can see doesnt matter the size of the ads blocks, your theme have own sizes in specific locations. I dont know why this is happening, I tried to desactive all plugins (except visual composer) I verified another site with the same theme, and it is working fine (like hxxp://sensacionalista.com.br).

9. How can I create “sliding sidebar blocks” like in the demo of newsmag? Note that I want to use this functionality with the sidebar blocks created in visual composer, not with the widgets.

10. About the size of the cover images for the articles. I tried to use the plugin Regenerate Thumbnails, but without sucess with your theme.

What I can do to adjust a better view to the images in each type of visualization that you theme offer? For example, for the same posts your theme use diferent sizes for the homepage and for the page of the categories.

As you can see the same post “O Que Faz um Analista Tributário da Receita Federal?” with the cropped image in the page of category:

hxxp://concursospublicos.ninja/carreiras/

But not cropped in the:

hxxp://concursospublicos.ninja/

Hi,

Comment the image size thumb you don’t use from theme’s functions.php file:http://screencast.com/t/J14W1QFu ..then use the force regenerate plugin to remove the extra thumbs and regenerate them again: https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/

The images thumbs aren’t stored in your database, they are located in the uploads folder in wordpress wp-content: http://screencast.com/t/XFwKAPr6

Thanks
