I recently used Envato Toolkit to update the Newspaper theme and once updated the theme disappeared from the site, only the header is visible. Is there a way to reinstall the old version?

This type of errors appears because the Visual Composer it is not updated. Please try to update it to the latest version of it, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hi,
The patch is used if you do not want to replace all your theme files with the new update. The patch simply contains the modified files so you can simply copy over and replace every file with the one from the patch. This is done through ftp.

Before making any changes make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install. This is a security measure and in case something goes wrong you can always get back to previous version.
However if you follow our documentation there shouldn’t be any issue in update process. In order to put the site online I just commented few lines in that php, It works but I don’t know what could happen now on.

I updated the newspaper theme this morning and my homepage stopped loading. The different menu category pages are loading but not the home page. Please help.

Try redownload the whole theme.
To update the plugin you have to go to plugins and uninstall visual composer. Then add new plugin from file and find \Newsmag-tf\plugins\js_composer.zip it’s inside the 3.1 theme package.

I have done all of the above, disabled all plugins, cleared cache and purged CDN. However it is still the same problem so I am pretty sure at this point it is the theme problem.
I have updated to the latest version in the meantime and it has completely screwed up the mobile site so now its total crap. I am not really happy about this theme as it is presented, seems it is not delivering neither half of the promise. Very disappointing.
I did not install the latest update however I am noticing that the mobile theme is not working on the home page. When I click an inner page such as a post, it seems to display the mobile theme.

I am trying to remedy some problems left by a former worker on this site. and need to compare the original style sheet to what we have so i can take out his customization so i will be able to update everything to the latest version with out loosing everything.

What are the steps that I need to take in order to install it properly? the last time I installed newsmag my site crashed and had to reupload all my images.

Mobile theme shows like default, with no thumbnails at all (they’re enabled but seem to be missing), like it is reset. None of my modified css classes about the mobile theme do not work (they’re there, not deleted after the update, just not working)…how do I solve this?
I haven’t had any issues with updates in the last one year or so but with this latest 3.1 update, my main landing page only shows the header and then blank. The inside pages are working except the main. After I revert back to 3.0, it was back to normal. Please advise.

Hi, after updating to the latest version we’re having all kind of issues. Bunch of [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″] issues on desktop, they layout is weird and etc.
And we get a Fatal error on mobile.

I have used a video URL according to this documentation, I have used a valid URL and an appropriate post type. I also just updated my theme. Posts still show up with a blank thumbnail.
Hi. There seems to be a social counter issue. I am refering to the one that shows under the post title. The number of Facebook likes falls behind the twitter button. I see it also shows like that in the latest update too. Perhaps some css fix is needed? Which is that?
