I’m having the same issue with the double-loaded Twitter share window.

Regarding the ‘&via=’ tag in the code, I see I was wrong about that. But what I don’t get is that the tag is populated when you try to share via Twitter with @DC Nation (My site name) even though the twitter username is not the same as my site name. If I try to modify the code manually it shows @@CowboysNationDC Nation when it should be @CowboysNation only. How do I correct this so the Twitter functionality added by 3.7 is actually useful?
Other Plugins:
I use the publishing feature of JetPack and the official Facebook plugin (Since Jetpack makes me refresh FB connection to share posts when published at least once a week). I have used the AddThis Smart Layers plugin in the past but it was deactivated and deleted from the plugins list. The Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest share buttons load one time each, as expected.

I want only 326×159 image size, i have deleted all the thumb generation sizes in functions.php but how we can use in child functions.
Can you please give me child theme functions update file to stop other image sizes.
I assume you turn ‘&via=’ into this ‘&via=@TwitterUserName’ to make it work. What I don’t get is what this does? And how it differs from the sharing capabilities already in the theme prior to v3.7?
In other words, what’s the point of this feature? What function is lost when not implemented? What function is gain when implemented? The code around it appears to be standard already-included sharing functionality.

My fail. Please delete. No issue.
This issue is resolved in the v3.7 theme update.
Stand by on this. Seems FTP client is hung… Looks like it grabbed the 3.5 -> 3.6 update instead. Rebooting and checking settings and will update if that was the issue.
try to delete the whole theme, upload it back and upload the plugin..it should work 🙂

I think some of the element names changed with the updated version of VC and haven’t been corrected yet.
Will this be fixed in the next update?
On the plus side, the new version of VC fixed the editor issue introduced when WP 3.9 was released.

WTF? Tried all again and nothing. Whole site, front and back end, show these errors. Tried uploading the wpbakery folder from 3.6 again and all is fine, but I can find no composer plugin in the files, nor does a message for the required plugin show up anywhere on the site.
Could this be an issue of using the child theme????? Site broken on 3.7, complete failure.

I updated my site to WP3.9 and the theme to 3.7, but it seems like the shortcodes for Box Quote and other stuffs are missing in the Visual Editor.
I thought there will be a fix for that in Newspaper 3.7, but unfortunately there is none.
How can I fix that? When the official fix will be released?

To update to v 3.7 please follow this steps
Upload the new theme or the patch over your existing theme.

On your Dashboard the theme will require to install WPBakery Visual Composer plugin. Click on Begin installing plugin

I don’t use any external share plugins. I did use addthis, but switched to the share buttons you guys put into Newspaper. Way better integration..
On the @sitename issue. Which piece of code do I have to edit exactly? Sorry, kind of a amateur when it comes to code / php. 🙂

I see the issue, for me on localhost the twitter share works fine, open only one window.
Do you use other share plugins? Can you disable all plugins or one by one and see if share works fine?

Only just noticed this but my site apparently doesn’t display any content in Safari or Chrome. Plays nicely with Firefox but the other two just show the menu and header.
Running 3.9 with latest update to theme.
Have tried this on iOS too and again only displays header and nav icon.
Be good to know what’s causing this.

Hey, thanks everybody for the kind words. 🙂 I’ve really only pitched in a very small amount of time, but now I need to “focus” on couple of critical things, so no more posting on my FB page for awhile either. That 20 minutes of lunchtime wandering now has to be curtailed to meet some deadlines by end of May.
I’ll check back in to update the issue with enlarging images via a plugin, as that is the last remaining “darn it” item for our sites using Newspaper.
My hope it to use Auto Post Thumbnail Pro as first step as this creates an image from first item in post, even external from our mothership news portal (Send2Press.com), sets as featured image; then “perhaps” thumbail upscale plugin to grab that and make the larger thumbs for the “featured” category toppers and larger zoomed images for featured boxes on the home page. Since most of our images are 500×375 for the legacy news sites (like CaliforniaNewswire.com), or 700×405 on others (some are even 600×300), this will hopefully replicate the old timthumb behavior we need. Hopefully WP 4 will eventually have this capability. Sadly they assume everybody should be uploading giant 1024×768 images and then going “down” from there, while in fact zooming a 500 pixel image to fit a 700 pixel width feature box with overlay of text/headline, works just fine.
So, I’ll be back to update that adventure later on!
