Hi Admin,
I am getting this incompatibility message with the “tagDiv Mobile” plugin, after updating…
(updated theme twice)

Hi, with the new update is the customization on thema child compatible with the mobile plugin?
Thank you.
If I understand you correctly what you are saying is to reinstall the theme from scratch and hope that the child theme customization you made will work.
I guess we will hold off on this upgrade and find another solution since it looks like this is not a very reliable company that we want to work with for the long haul.
If I was in your situation – I would pull back this update and redo it so that it is more manageable and addresses what your customers are telling you here as feedback.
Otherwise – it looks like a clusterfuck from about 5000 miles away.
Good luck folks.
Hi,
You can check more from this update in this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/important-new-update-newspaper-9-7/
If you are not using the child theme you can update your theme without problems, from newspaper v9.7 the child theme will support only the changes for style and function file and you can not longer use the child theme for all theme files like in previous version of theme.
But with the new features you can achieve using the header manger, tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Cloud library everything or even more that you can make in child theme.
If you have any questions, please let as know!
Thank you!
Hi,
Please download again the Newspaper v9.7.1 from themeforest set your website in maintenance mode, delete the current theme from your website and install/update the one that you get from the themeforest.
Is possible that your current version of theme ( which is v9.7.1 to have some problems in theme files).
Also you can check a similar topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/newspaper-backend-issue-cannot-modify-header-information-headers-already-sent/

Hi,
Unfortunately for the moment we do not have a solution for this ( something like child theme ), what you can do for them moment is to save the changes you make in tagDiv Composer plugin and when you make the next update if there will be no solution for override, you can set the website in maintenance mode and set the saved changes quickly in tagDiv Compose plugin files.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
The Newspaper theme update brings a change for the theme implementation.
When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.

Hi,
Did you make that modification in a child theme? After the 9.7 update this is not possible anymore. Now the child theme is limited to just a few files.
This is a consequence of the recent modifications to the location of theme files, due to Envato requirements. There is an article about it here – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So now the header template files are in the composer – http://prntscr.com/ng7qe6 You could edit them there, but the modification will have to made again after each update. Files from plugins can’t be modified in a child theme.
An alternative to this is to use a cloud header template. For example set a cloud header template in general, in the theme panel. That will be used in the whole website. In the homepage use a different cloud header template that doesn’t contain an ad.
You can design a header as you want, even import one made by us (and modify it if needed)
In them you can add any element from the composer. You can set a general template that contains an ad, while in the homepage use one with no ad in it.
Let me know if you need help or you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
Please make sure that you have correctly updated the theme via FTP way, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Ensure that your AMP was properly set up according to our docs from here -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/ Also, make sure if your Google Analytics code was added to the right section from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/aFUzPhNPr8 Also, you need to provide your website URL for more deeper investigations. Also, you can provide more details about your encountered errors.
I look forward to helping you!
Thank you!

Maybe there is a different way of adding the code you mention, for example if it can be added by shortcode, you could add a column text in the cloud post template and enter the shortcode in it.
Thanks

Hi,
There is a blur on the images as you mention, but only on Chrome it seems. There was such an issue a while back, it happened after a Chrome update and I believe we made some modifications to fix it for sidebar sections where it happened most.
I get the same blur on the slide, using the same image as you – http://prntscr.com/ng6u0m
A quick fix is to add this code in the theme panel custom CSS section
.td-big-grid-slide {
perspective:unset!important;
}
Should fix the blur issue, I will also add this on our list to be fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for letting us know and providing these useful details.
Thanks
Hi,
Very important is to update all of these from the right section from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/IXc7chhp Remove all the old version of them and install them again form that section, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. If the problem persists, please let us know.
Thank you!
Hi there, recently bought the theme. Last night I was installing the theme, tried to looking for the child version; since I couldn’t find it I was going through this forum and I saw many complainings and problems related to the new updates and the child version of this theme. Since I haven’t create anything yet I would like to know what’s the best option for me right now. Is it better to stay with the “father”and not make any updates in the future or installed the child?… Assuming that I have to do a job for a client (an important news website) so I need something durable and trustable.
Hi all,
I have a custom ad box placed just above the featured image on single_template_2.php. I used to call the ad by using the following code: <?php echo do_shortcode ('[td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_1" tdc_css=""]'); ?>
The problem is that the structure of the file after the update is very different, and I am unable to find the correct position where I should put the code inside the single_template_2 file.
Regards,
Ronaldo
Hi,
Most of the theme files were moved into the tagdiv composer plugin as per the requirements of envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css as there are very few files left in the main theme as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.
Please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/important-new-update-newspaper-9-7/
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.

Hi,
Users that do not extend their support period will only benefit from theme updates but they will no longer receive theme support, meaning answers from us. We have not implemented this yet, but it is planned for the future.

It isn’t safe to modify main files, one of the reasons is that the modifications will be lost when the theme and theme plugins are updated, so they will have to be made again.
Sorry??? This is exactly what a child theme is meant for. Of course, this is safe. It’s not a fire-and-forget solution. Now and then, you have to update the modified files. Usually, this is not a big deal when minor mods are added. However, it’s the best solution we have. And it is for good reasons the fundamental concept of WordPress themes.
Hey folks, updated to version 4.8 and the file shared before is no longer there. Do you know where this code has moved to so I can enable the post settings box for Authors. (basically, anyone who can upload images).
Hi,

After the 9.7 update the child theme is limited to just a few files. This is a consequence of the recent modifications to the location of theme files, due to Envato requirements.
If you are looking for the mobile theme files they are now in the composer

These files couldn’t be modified in a child theme previously.

Hi,
Please make sure that you delete the current theme and set the new one ( please do not override the theme).
