After updating to Newspaper 9 my website broke.
TD Composer is the culprit. It is not getting updated either from the wordpress plugins page nor from the newspaper dasboard.

Hi, I was a IonMag Premium member. I was happy then the theme was never updated and suddenly I was out of support.
I was recommended to purchase NewsMag (a better and improved IonMag) and I did it yesterday. Only to find out the theme is still too narrow for me.
Could I change it for the Newspaper theme or get a refund?
Just updated my site to the latest Newspaper and decided it was time to explore TD Composer and move off of the WPBakery page builder.
Spent the last 30 minutes trying to get a single element to appear in my new page. A few problems:
– When I open a new page to build, I can’t drag anything at all into it. I drag and drop and nothing appears in the page
– I read the docs, it says I need a row. If I need a row and my page is empty and I try to drop something in, how about telling me I need a row first?
– I try to drop a row into my page. Nothing happens.
– I try to search through the elements to see if there’s something else I should add, and I can’t scroll vertically through all the elements in the left pane. No scrollbar, arrow and pgup/dn keys don’t work
– Exit TD Composer and see there are shortcodes in the page in WordPress composer. Go back into TD Composer and now I have a row and I can drag and drop elements into this space, but I still can’t scroll vertically to see the elements available. I have a small widescreen laptop so not a lot of vertical space. How about a freaking scrollbar?
This composer fails basic fundamental usability tests. Frankly, I’m disappointed. I supposed I’ll try again after the next major update.

AMP is no longer working after I updated Newspaper theme to version 9.0.1. I had to update the AMP plugin after updating the theme and I did this. I also cleared the cache(s) and even re-installed the plugin, but nothing seems to be working. I just keep getting a 404 page whenever I try to visit an AMP-enabled blog post.

That is indeed on our list, there are many various issues however. We try to fix/modify/improve as many as possible for each update.
At some point this will be looked into, or a new functionality will be implemented for the header styles. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Ads in the cloud loop element are not possible at the moment. The cloud library loop element does not use the module you are referring to or share the same theme files. This would require you to modify the plugin files, the modifications will also be lost after an update.

Both the tagDiv composer and WPBakery page builder have a dedicated revolution slider element to place in pages

Updates for the revolution slider are provided by us when the theme is updated and when available. You don’t have to register or activate the revolution slider plugin, it is a bundled version not a premium purchased version.

It would say if already exist if there already is a Newspaper theme in the WordPress themes folder. The update guide specifies all the required steps depending on update method

The update should not cause any problems now, there were a few issues but they are fixed now. Re-download the theme if you downloaded just after the update was released, then install it.
The old theme has to be replaced with the new one. If you made modifications to the theme files directly they will be lost as the old theme gets replaced.

Try to update the theme and WordPress to the latest version of it, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, if the problem is still there, try to make a new fresh install to another sub-domain, remove all of the additional customizations if you have something like this and check the results.

Agree completely with simchris. It’s like with the Newspaper theme now. Whenever they do a big update, you’re better off waiting for the next two or three bugfixes before updating as they always seem to be buggy now.
I’m a bit surprised that the menu issue (Responsive Breakpoint) wasn’t resolved in the last update. It doesn’t take to many menu items for the menu items to start stacking and overlapping on tablet breakpoints.

Make sure you have full backups of everything; make sure you copy out any custom code put into theme panels, and widgets, into a text file, too.
Roll back to prior version of plugin ? Deactivate plugin ? Clear all your caching and resave permalinks ? Check the Yoast support forum on WordPress.org ?
Just ideas. New versions of Yoast often have bugs so I typically wait for the inevitable .01 and .02 versions. This happens every “new” version. Bug fixes, and new features. Then dot update for the bug fixes. Then a bug fix for the bug fix. (sigh)
We are leaving Yoast behind with our next major site revamp, as it’s gotten to be a joke, in my opinion.
Update on this: We seem to have found some success using a very old plugin from the WordPress repository:

I am looking for help to adjust vertical alignment of author and date fields plus social share buttons on posts.

I am showing latest post by categories in my front-page in block layout, some of the blocks showing the posts by the category correctly but some of them aren’t. While I visit to the category page it shows all the latest posts! I am unable to figure out the problem after inspecting for a long time.
Note: I have all the plugins and the Newspaper theme updated to latest version. I have tested this deactivating all the plugins but the vs composer(as its containing the blocks). I am using WP Super Cache and I have tested the problem deleting cache and deactivating the plugin but the result is same.
I have also checked the post order for the block and its set to its default -Latest-. I have also tested it setting the offset to some random number but some latest posts gets skipped.
On this circumstance I badly need your assistance to debug and solve this problem.
