I’ve got this new problem after updating to 6.6.5.
I lost all my settings (widget, translation, css …) suddenly and I noticed that the theme was not activated, so I re-activated and did my setting again (I found out that I’ve just needed to create sidebars with previous names to get them back) and it was fine, but next time I went to admin I lost the activation again and had to redo my settings.
So I have 2 questions : why is that new activation problem, is it related to version 6.6.5 ? I didn’t get this problem before and I did the update by ftp.
And second, how can we save and copy back our settings ?
I thought it was id 138 from wp_options table but it is not !!
Right now, my theme is not activated but the site is alright

Hello Patrick,
Unfortunately we are unsure why this occurs on your website as we have no reports of such errors. The settings are kept in the database, not the theme itself so that is what you should back-up to save settings, sidebars etc.

The sidebar issue can happen if you updated from newspaper 4 as it is a very old version and lots of things were changed from that version.

As for the activation issue, we are uncertain why this happened. Maybe there was a temporary server error. We have no reports of the activation not working or resetting.

Hi,
I always do back-ups before updating but because we have new posts all the time I would preferred not to re-import all the database, is it possible to import only some parts of the database for getting back settings, sidebars, custom css … ?
I had this activating problem again, my item purchase code is accepted but then when I come back to the admin it is lost and all my setting are gone, is it important to have the theme activated ?

Also please check with your hostin provider to see if you meet the system requirements for the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

As for the activation, at the moment if you do not activate the theme, there will only be the notification message. But we do plan on implementing some restrictions for this to discourage piracy but we cannot provide any details at the moment as it not yet set into motion.
