Ads placement – Top Ads – Skyscraper Ads

The header has an ad spot, it will appear differently depending on header style used

With the new header builder that will be introduced in the coming theme update, it may be possible to change the ad position in the header.
But for the moment if you want to chnage it or add elements in the header it will require modifications to the header template you are using – http://prntscr.com/mgepcy

A background ad consisting of a background image and link can be set in the theme panel

This would not be how you wanted however.

To make an ad appear at the very top above the top bar would require that the ad code is inserted in the header template directly – http://prntscr.com/mgu7al

After the coming update it will be possible to re-arrange the header elements by using cloud header templates, so placing the header ad at the top is a drag and drop process

Regarding the background ad, some users have created a background image taking into account the width of the theme

Or maybe there are ad inserting plugins that have options to place ads left and right of the body.

Now you can find the parts folder in td-standard-pack/Newspaper/parts and in this folder you can find the headers too.
