I want to know if there is an easy way to customise the navigation tabs on Block 1 in the main website page only. Been playing with this for a while and changing settings – no results – I just can’t figure it out.

Is this the kind “support” I was promised when I bought the template? Feed me a link and let me sort it out myself? I have read through this tutorial before and again following your reply – it does not answer my question!
Slide #1 (http://testsite.inbishkek.com/block1) shows a nav menu in Block 1 that “auto populates itself” and my question is how, specifically and where, can I customize it to show 5 specific post categories that I want in the nav menu plus the “more” tab? Also, if I decide that I want to replace the more tab with another category, how to do that?
And please, do not send me another tutorial link, that is bogus customer service & support. You guys promised support, please deliver what you promised.

The ajax filter is the menu you mention. It can be found in the block settings. When you add a new block, the settings come up automatically. if the block is already set up but you want to change it, you need to press the little pencil icon here: http://screencast.com/t/ZZiqCDL7hVN8 After that, you need to access the ajax filter tab: http://screencast.com/t/u4AjsMv9yR Here you can find 4 options. First you need to select what you want the filter to show. It can be categories, authors, tags or filter by popularity. If you want to have categories shown, you can select the categories: http://screencast.com/t/CLkwticFix
If you leave it like so then ALL categories will show up. If you want specific ones, you need to add the category id’s in this filed like so: http://screencast.com/t/Pg99rdvxXoi The guide from my previous reply shows how you can get the category id’s. Now your ajax filter will show the id;s you added in the settings. The next 2 options are optional. THis one changes the name from all to whatever you wish it to…you mentioned you want it to say “more” so you simply need to type it in: http://screencast.com/t/GdvFUG27
The ajax preloading is again optional if you wish for it to load when the p[age loads, not when the menu is accessed so you have =navigation without loading but the overall page will load a bit slower.

Thanks Bogdan! Yes, we’re not familiar at all with your product. We’d lunched our 110 page website using a completely different set of products; tools & templates, having to re-educate ourselves on your platform has been a challenge and detailed info is very helpful. We’ll follow your instructions and hopefully will not have to ask for further clarifications.
One pesky problem, the weather widget that ships with the template is useless for our location – always off by 10-15c. I’ve contacted the provider over a month ago and they are aware of the problem but have not corrected it. I attempted to install a different widget that we use and has proved to be very accurate on our existing site but it does not show up as an available choice for the sidebar. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry for the inaccurate weather results but as you know we use the api from http://openweathermap.org/
We do not have our own weather station 🙂 We cannot say for sure exactly how good are the weather reports. It is up to the source material to provide accurate results. The theme only displays what it can grab from the server.
The alternative weather plugin you use could not be compatible with the theme as not all plugins recognize the custom code from premium themes. Unfortunately I have no suggestion to make regarding a weather plugin as we have not tested any. it;s best to check out the plugin implementation methods and use the shortcodes provided by the plugin. In most cases there is a shortcode you can add inside a text box on the sidebar from the widgets area of wordpress.

Thanks for the tip. Got it to work, but the raw data is still erratic, so I’m trying to find a more accurate source.
Another question somewhat related to Block settings. Got the hang of it, customizing the blocks to “mine” post categories and individual posts for different blocks which populate the front page. However, I’ve run into a little problem with one, Block 15 that we are using to mine posts from our events posts page in the TESTSITE. We’ve been using “The Events Calendar PRO” by Modern Tribe to create custom post pages for events around town. It works perfectly with our existing theme, but I’m having a little difficulty integrating it with Newspaper7 since it is very different from our current one.
With your theme, in the post creating/editing pages, the “category” displays all available categories that have been created as optional selections. The Events Calendar is also a “post” creator/editor but is only displaying its categories, not the one’s available in the theme.
How can I integrate the calendar with the theme so that the same categories are available for our regular posts as well as the calendar posts? I did try a workaround via the suggestions you gave me earlier working with the block editing features, but it has not helped – even when the post ID is set in the filter, I get nothing to display. But that would be a pain because the block(s) would have to be edited each time a new event is posted. Can you offer a solution? Even if I have to edit the theme core files, it’s OK.
Exactly….the support here on tagdiv is absolutely HORRIBLE. We pay huge money for a theme with minimal or zero support. we purchached 10 themes from MYTHEMESHOP.COM. these guys will almost come to your house and configure your systems for you.
Nothing is more annoying than programmers sending links to documentation when even the documentation is written in Chinese., I just filed with paypal for a refund. Disgusted.

To a point, yes you are right, the support needs to improve substantially to become world class as other companies. The up front marketing is tops, and that is why we purchased the template to improve the look of our online magazine.
We are happy with the new look, yet very disappointed with the implementation and re-launch time due to the long learning curve and tech issues. More effort should have been made to provide simple how-to videos, which would cut down on time wasted waiting for answers in these forums. The YouTube video series they have, in my opinion, is great for selling the product, but worthless for implementation and answering the simplest of questions.
We’ve invested too much time and also went ahead and purchased all the free plugins that ship with template to start over again. So we will struggle a bit longer with this one, but the next site upgrade we will take a longer look at support and documentation – including tutorial video material – before committing time and money resources.

If you want to integrate events into our theme blocks you simply have to add the custom post type ID in the block settings like so: http://screencast.com/t/BLWCyp0d
If you find our theme to be too difficult or our documentation not good enough, or our theme support not good enough, you can request a refund so you can then choose another theme better suited for your project.
