I moved my site from Magazine to Newspaper and it broke the site. It happened in 2020 and hadn’t done anything since then. It seems that the menus are gone.
How can I get the demo theme menus imported and then edit as needed?
edit: apparently, it wasn’t move from another of your themes. I used the theme panel to change to another demo and it broke everything.
How do I keep my content, media etc. but make sure the site gets populated by new demo including categories, looks?

You should install the demo without content, so in this case your content won’t be changed.
