Hi,
We would like to have rel = prev and rel=next with canonical pointing to their own URL and not homepage on paginated archives.
for instance, this URL – https://www.techuntold.com/page/2
Has canonical set to homepage and there’s no prev and next.
The setting should be similar to what we have on paginated archives on categories.
Please check this – https://www.techuntold.com/category/apps/page/2
We want similar setting for homepage archives.
Hi,
This problem was fix in Newspaper v9.7.4 -> http://prntscr.com/oltpbt you can check it here in changelog -> https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
From what I can see you do not have the last version of the theme, please make the theme update, after that the canonical should work properly.
Thank you!
The issue now we have is that for URL’s like this – https://www.techuntold.com/page/123/?source=post_page—————————
We want canonical to be https://www.techuntold.com/page/123/ instead of https://www.techuntold.com/page/123/?source=post_page—————————
They are exactly duplicate pages and Google has indexed them because of incorrect canonical. And we are not quite sure how they are generated – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/parameterized-urls/
There are plenty of them. Please check the screenshot – http://prnt.sc/oluekg
Another type of SUCH URL – https://www.techuntold.com/page/153/?ga_action=googleanalytics_get_script
Here also canonical is https://www.techuntold.com/page/153/?ga_action=googleanalytics_get_script when it should be https://www.techuntold.com/page/153/
Hi,
Please deactivate all non theme plugins, change the permalinks, clear all cache and check again.
If there is still a problem, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thank you!
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I used the following plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
and disabled all the plugins and enabled them one by one…the issue was not there. As soon as the theme and the two theme plugins(tagDIv composer and cloud library) become active the issue is observed.
