Hello – an email from Google tells me “Core Web Vitals INP issues detected on your website https://jazzjournal.co.uk/”
It says:
“Google is transitioning to a new metric to measure the responsiveness of sites, called Interaction to Next Paint (INP), which will replace FID as a Core Web Vital in March 2024.
Search Console has detected that your site has the following INP issues:
INP issue: longer than 500 ms (mobile)
INP issue: longer than 200 ms (mobile)
We highly recommend that site owners achieve good Core Web Vitals for success with Search and to ensure a great user experience generally. This, along with other page experience aspects, aligns with what our core ranking systems seek to reward.”
I have no idea how to fix this. Is it a problem in the Newspaper software that tagDiv will be fixing?
Thanks
Mark Gilbert
Hi, have recieved the same email
The problem is only in “mobile”, i’m using the tagDiv Mobile Theme

Also, the tagDiv Mobile Theme as a problem with “smartlist” forcing always in mobile the “smartlist 1” ignoring options we have selected and that shows correctly on desltop
Hi,
This depends on how well is your website optimized, for example this demo – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_pro/ was optimized by our developer and there are no problems with the INP – https://i.imgur.com/gAncpfD.png
Mark Gilbert, here is the section that you can improved – https://i.imgur.com/qYREfsD.png also if you can replace all standard elements and disable the tagDiv Standard pack then you’ll load low resources.
Also, you can use flex blocks and use cache on them – https://forum.tagdiv.com/use-flex-blocks-cache-option/
Another alternative is to try a different cache plugin, like WP Rocket and you can use the page template – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
Archerix if the form is on mobile theme plugin, please try the smart list 2 and also, make a test with the mobile theme only for amp and try the page template – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
Thank you!
“there are no problems with the INP – https://i.imgur.com/gAncpfD.png”, well in reality there is, i have received the warning for “202ms” and yours is “214ms”, so my website is better optimized than yours Demo, meaning tagDiv Mobile Theme is performing better than your newspaper pro on mobile
Everything over 200ms will receive a warning
Hi Archerix, I understand what you say. The principle followed when this demo was optimized was to pass core web vitals. We will continue to monitor how the change with INP is taking place and if there are measures that can be taken by our developers to improve the situation, they will do it.
Thank you!
Hello Alex,
Normally in Newspaper v12.6 the popup menu should not have this problem, just make sure that the modal is set on delayed – https://i.imgur.com/QUoesuf.png
Thank you!
Hi @ncalex,
Thank you for your response.
Preload option on modal popup seem to slightly decrease INP, which is good.
However, for the logged out users the content that is meant appear per page ID is no longer showing. This new a issue and it seems to be caused by caching. But, all caching plugins/settings are set as per your guides.
Can probably create a new thread for this?
Hi Alex,
Normally if all settings from our guide for wp super cache – https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ – https://i.imgur.com/qpqCRAF.png there should be no problems.
Also, you can use the guide for making the website faster – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thank you!
