Hi Guys, I use Smartmag for another project and have jusst started to use Newspaper 7, one of the things we can do with Smartmag is define a custom colour for categories so that all labels, category menu links etc all display that colour? is there any way we can achieve this with Newspaper 7 other than using custom css?
Thanks
Matt
Hello mattemkadia,
Please notice that you have to set the category colours for each category from Theme panel->Category section, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/pEseJbBv9oK For more information about how you can customize your categories, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/category-templates/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-category-settings-work/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/category-top-post-styles-2/
If is not what you mean, please provide more details about what you want to achieve so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi Catallin, thanks for the feedback, I was more concerned with the Category menu link underline hover colour on the main menu, as well as block titles? do we have to set the colour of these manually because in Smartmag we set the custom category colour and this then applies to all category menu links etc. For newspaper theme do we have to set this colour manually using custom css?
Thanks
Matt
Hello mattemkadia,
Please notice that the main menu is set it separately from the category. As you can see in our documentation, the main menu is part of our header styles and it could be different for the whole website, according to header style used by you. For more information about our header styles, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/ So, if you want to have other colors for your main menu in the category page, you have to add them manually, using the custom CSS code.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi Catalin, where can I reference the custom css code to set menu hover colours for specific categories?
Thanks
Matt
Hello mattemkadia,
Please notice that all the custom CSS it has to be added in Custom CSS area from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/GHwB3JTH3 If you want to change the hover colours for specific categories it is not a simple task and this required custom work. If you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
