I was wondering how I could set a default image site wide for all posts that don’t have a featured image set. Reason being some of our articles have images to show and some do not, so a branded thumbnail would be awesome for when our contributors don’t set an image.
More specifically, does anyone know which theme files call the the_post_thumbnail() function? I could manually set it there

The thumbnails will be created automatically by the theme, from the featured images set for the posts. It would be best to use featured images, or videos for posts

If there is no featured image the theme will display a default placeholder thumbnail

You could replace them with the images you want and the theme will use those, just make sure they are of the same size and have the same name and format like the default ones.
