?????
They (block 12 (Most Popular) and block 9 (Must Read) display different articles/content!
Please take a look at both http://hispaniclatinonewsandevents.network
I added Block 9 (Must Read) under Block 12 (Most Popular).
Question is:
How do I edit block 9 to “display” (the format) exactly as Block 12 (Most Popular) does?
Hi,
If you want the same articles in both of them, set the same filtering settings and sort order in each block – https://www.screencast.com/t/Bz6WK9FJA – https://www.screencast.com/t/EwB4qmrYLnbY
Hope this helps you
Thanks
Hi,
If i understand correctly you want two different blocks containing different modules to look the same when they are not meant to – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-9/ – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-12/ You could use the same block then, or something similar to both of them like block 17 – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-17/ If you could explain exactly what you want to edit in block 9 maybe I can give you a solution.
Thanks
Disregard previous statement in #155157
Since I was not able to communicate what I wanted this is what I just did and what I want to do:
1. I now created another Block 12 in my Home Page. It displays under the Ad Box which is under Most Popular.
2. Now “How do I get this Block to display the articles/post that currently display in Block 9 titled Must Read located on the right side of Home Page next to Most Popular? See http://hispaniclatinonewsandevents.network
Hope U understand this now!
P.S. By the way what post/articles are selected to display in the Must Read and Most Popular? Is there documentation that explains this?
Hi,
The blocks you create will display posts from the category or categories you choose based on the sort order you choose on each block – https://www.screencast.com/t/AQISEmuFP – https://www.screencast.com/t/phNPp42pl8Yv – https://www.screencast.com/t/xIy5Vm92Z1u result – https://www.screencast.com/t/Jl4DpJi0 Also that is the way you can check what posts are currently displaying, by default it’s set to All categories – Latest
All this is explained in this tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
I hope that I understood what you want.
Thanks
Thanks Simion!
Questions:
1. I read in the Block Setting’s Filter that it is recommended to select/set The Sort Order for “Most Popular” to the jetpack (24-48hrs) method, however I do not see this selection in the dropdown. The only selection with the wording of “jetpack” is Popular but says “Jetpack+stat module required”, “does not work with other settings/pagination”. Do not understand what this means!
Question: Is it ok to select this Sort Order? Which one would you recommend?
2. Regarding the Sort Order for Must Read which one would u recommend since my site (for now) does not provide for Reviews nor Comments?
3. I would like to exclude certain Post categories from Latest Articles/Post. I read the instruction and did what I believed was to be done, that is I entered the “posts ID’s” that I wanted to exclude with a minus (-) sign (To exclude categories from this block add them with ‘-‘ (ex: -9, -10) in the Multiple Category Filter Box but in doing my Latest Articles/Post displayed NO POSTs, so I guess what I did was wrong.
Please explain how to exclude Categories?
Thanks!
Hi,
If you want to have posts displayed on a block sorted by popular (that means post views) you must activate that feature from the theme panel – https://www.screencast.com/t/s6bXjWU9vCS This feature needs post views to be active for the sorting to work. The jetpack stats module sorting needs the jetpack plugin. It uses jetpack to return the proper posts. More about this here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/7-days-post-sorting/ There are a multitude of sort orders to choose and pick what you want and would suit your website better (latest, popular, alphabetically, random etc)
When filtering categories and posts please make sure there are some left for the block to display posts from, do not exclude them all. You should keep in mind also that if you decide to use the multiple categories filter, the standard category filter will be ignored.
Thanks
