Hi Tagdiv,
I have ztratum.com and enjoying your template!
In my menu navigation, I have “Home” and two categories: “Stock Ideas” and “Shortlists”.
Both categories “Stock Ideas” and “Shortlists” have 4 subcategories: “GARP”, “Deep Value”, “Cloning” and “Insider Buying” These subcategories are the same by word, but the articles I post in it are not.
I have two questions regarding the above:
1: Can I post articles on my homepage, put a subcategory on it (for example “Insider Buying”) and not get it automatically posted in the categories “Stock Ideas” and “Shortlists”? Please see https://ztratum.com/atc-management-buying-shares/ were this is happening.
2: How do I create create an article, (sub)categorize it as “Insider Buying” and get to choose myself if it gets only placed in the subcategory “Stock Ideas – Insider Buying” or only in the subcategory “Shortlist – Insider Buying”. The articles in these subcategories are different articles but the subcategories have the same name in both main categories.
Thank you,
Patrick

Hi,
1. If the “Insider Buying” is a subcategory of the “Stock Ideas” then this will be display in it as a subcategory post.
2. I think that for this you have two options. To make a page for each subcategory and set there a flex block with the filters that you want. Or you can make a different cloud category for each subcategory and replace the post loop with the flex block and filter it after the subcategory you want to display (by default filtering after the current category can display posts from subcategories too).
Thank you!
If you are referring to an option for posts, then is no option for this. What you can do if there are only a few articles that you want only the homepage is to remove theme from the category page.
Or if you do not need a category page, then you can use a redirect plugin to redirect the links form categories to a different page.
By default the posts from WordPress will be display in categories, and if those are not set in a category will automatically set in the category “uncategorized”.
Thank you!
Hi Calin,
Referrign to your remark in your first reply “To make a page for each subcategory and set there a flex block with the filters that you want.”, I have a couple of questions:
1. When I am on https://ztratum.com/category/stock-ideas/ and I click on edit from the tagdiv composer it goes to “Investment methods” section of my website. Do you know why? I have made printscreens, but do not have an upload button.
AlsoI have set a flexblock on https://ztratum.com/category/stock-ideas/ and https://ztratum.com/category/shortlists/. I have put a filter with 3 ids in the stock-ideas flexblock, but it automatically puts the 3 ids also in the filter of the other flexblock at shortlists. Why is that?
Thank you,
Patrick
Hi pwisker,
You are using only a single cloud category template and this is assigned for all categories as global -> https://i.imgur.com/1W2rfnQ.jpg so, if you make a change in that template will be apply for all categories that are using the global cloud category.
What you can do (in case that you want to display specific posts per category) is to duplicate the cloud category template and assign it as individual (it can be done from the frontend per category -> https://i.imgur.com/2Vwa0MX.jpg or from the theme panel per category -> https://i.imgur.com/rKiPLki.png)
I hope this will help you!
Thank you Calin,
I looked at the theme panel per category. How do I duplicate the cloud category template in the theme panel?
At category global settings > Cloud Library Template, I only see ¨Default Pro¨.
And at per catgory settings > category cloud library template, I only see: ¨Inherit from global settings¨, ¨Theme Templates¨ and ¨Default Pro¨.
Thank you,
Patrick
Hi,
You need to go in the cloud template section and -> https://i.imgur.com/7kc0OVP.png after you duplicate the cloud you can edit it with tagDiv Composer, and after that this will be display in the theme panel too.
Thank you!
Hi Calin,
After a couple of months I still need a little tweak getting the right posts in the right places.
The post “2 interesting stocks in February 2022” now appears in 3 places on the website:
1: On the homepage in the area “Latest Stock Ideas”
2: On the homepage in the area “Latest Shortlists”
3: Under the menu button “Shortlists”
I want to delete the post in place number 1 in the area “Latest Stock Ideas” so it does not appear there anymore. Where can I adjust the settings for this and for future posts?
Thank you!
Patrick
Just to add on the above:
On the homepage, the area “Latest Stock Ideas” is a “Posts Loop2” and the area “Latest Shortlists” is a “Big Grid Flex 1”.
I see I can filter the Big Grid Flex on posts that fall in a specific category. That is what I also want to do with Posts Loop2. Or alternatively construct the same lay out as Posts Loop2, but with a filter, like Big Grid Flex.
Thank you,
Patrick
Hello,
A solution could be to use the unique article option, follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/
This option automatically removes duplicate posts from the page.
Also, another solution is to set the offset posts on the blocks => https://www.screencast.com/t/Tsiu65TSaRS -> https://www.screencast.com/t/YbkmVbsBrnk
You can use the Flex Block 1 and you can filter it to display the posts only from a category -> https://i.imgur.com/Nnt3zGX.png and you can design it to look like a posts loops block.
The Posts Loops settings are divided into 5 tabs: General, Layout, Style, ADS and CSS. The Posts loop is a special block and doesn’t have filtering options.
Also, one of the options for pagination of the Posts Loop has the option for normal numbered and the flex blocks do not have this option.
The Posts Loop is automatically filtering the posts depending on the cloud template you set (for example on the category page there will be posted posts from that category).
Thank you!
