Hi tagDiv,
I have two widgets in my sidebar and I don’t want them both in sticky mode.
First widget = not sticky
2nd widget = sticky
How can I achieve this?
What I’ve done already:
1. Activate the Smart sidebar under template settings
2. Go to the Appearance > Widgets and check the sticky box for my second widget
3. Clear cached refresh my site.
After this, both widgets are still in sticky more.

Please help me fix this.
Thank you very much!
Hi tagDiv,
Just want to follow up on this question. I know this question has been asked repeatedly and the only solution we found so far is to use the Q2W3 Fixed Widget plugin which is not behaving the way it should normally do. Maybe because this plugin is not compatible with the Newspaper theme.
Is there any way/hack where we can only use sticky on a specific widget and not in the whole sidebar?
Thanks!
Hi,
The sidebar will act as a whole section, you can either make it all sticky or not at all. Only on pages you can control what sidebar is sticky, since it is required to enter a specific class to the column, see bottom section of this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/
Plugins may interfere with the theme smart sidebar options and cause issues, we cannot make any recommendations in the matter unfortunately. We have not tested such plugins. Sorry if this is an inconvenience for you.
Thanks
Hi Simion,
I understand that the Newspaper theme works differently. However one of the most performing AdSense positions is in the upper right sidebar as stated in this Google AdSense video https://youtu.be/j581uAnfahw?list=PLbAFD4oU9YcocOlILRpwwfQJDXoRO8I2M&t=50.
Like many other publishers we usually place AdSense on that position and for the other widgets, for instance, Email Subscribe Box, Social Media profiles, Popular Posts, etc. we usually make this sticky to get a new subscriber or reduce the bounce rate.
That’s why many of your customers including me are repeatedly asking if we can only use the sticky in the specific widget and not the whole sidebar.
By doing this, we are complying with AdSense policy while lowering the bounce rate, increasing the number of new subscribers or followers.
But since this is not the case in Newspaper theme, we need to choose, put AdSense and don’t make it sticky or make it sticky but remove the AdSense.
This is not a complain, I just want you guys to see the other picture here and share my thoughts about Smart sidebar and I think it’s smart decision to just remove it and allow us to use the Q2W3 Fixed Widget plugin.
Thanks!
Hi,
There will be changes in coming updates in how the post pages can be used. There will be a considerable amount of flexibility added, I believe something like this will be possible then. I cannot give you a time estimate however for when this update will be released, the work is still in progress. As soon as each task is finished the update will be released.
But for the moment something like this would not be possible with the current theme options. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
Hi.
Is there any new information about Q2W3 Fixed Widget plugin and Newspaper?
It works now in Firefox browser, but doesn’t work in Chrome.
Is it possible to fix it somehow?
Sticky sidebar is not an option for me because i need just the last widget to by sticky.
I saw many people asked this question, this feature is very useful for many of us.
Hi,
Don’t know about that plugin, didn’t use it or tried it unfortunately. Maybe that issue is known to the plugin developers, could be an issue with Chrome.
The theme provides a sticky option for columns only, not specific widgets unfortunately. Only if that widget is inserted in a column of it’s own would it be possible to make it sticky.
Can’t say at the moment if there will be new options in this matter, currently there are other priorities. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks
Hi, could you tell me please how did they do only the lower part of sidebar sticky here? _http://echudo.ru/medovo-kastorovaya-maska-korolevskij-effekt/
This is what i need, but i can’t fifure out what i should do to get this result. I don’t see that they use any plugins for this here so it’s just theme feature i guess
Hi,
Seems nothing was modified in that website regarding the sticky sidebar, as far as I can see.
If you zoom out a little in the browser it can be seen that the whole sidebar including the top ad are still sticky
– http://prntscr.com/m8w3qj
You could maybe design a cloud post template like this
– http://prntscr.com/m8w8cs
So basically there will be the ad next to the post title and sharing for example,not sticky. While the rest of the sidebar will be next to the post content, sticky. That may produce the result you want. This will require the cloud library plugin

Thanks
Thank you. It works, but there is one problem: once sidebar gets sticky it’s width gets wider.
First: <div class=”td-ss-main-sidebar” style=”width: auto; position: static; top: auto; bottom: auto; z-index: 1;”><div class=”clearfix”></div>
After it gets sticky
<div class=”td-ss-main-sidebar” style=”width: 324px; position: fixed; top: auto; bottom: 0px; z-index: 1;”><div class=”clearfix”></div>
But normal width of my sidebar is 269.9, not 324
How can i fix it? I just need to have the same width of sticky sidebar, to be auto.
I made some tests with the latest theme version and everything seems in order in sticky mode
– http://prntscr.com/majkk1
Not sticky – http://prntscr.com/majln7
Sticky – http://prntscr.com/majlu1
I used a normal row split in 2/3+1/3 in this example. The width isn’t auto it is always the same 324px.
What layout are you using? I could try and recreate it on my end? Or provide a link to a test page/post so I can take a look.
Also are you using the latest version of the theme? I vaguely remember an issue with the sticky sidebar in an older theme version.
I use one of the lastest version, but i think this problem is because i use a custom width of rows. Bacis width of content is too narrow for me, i have many tables.
So seems like when sidebar gets sticky it’s width becomes basic.
Not sticky
https://prnt.sc/mavfkv
Sticky
https://prnt.sc/mavhcl
But i can’t find which file it comes from and where to change it
It may be the same from here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/display-problem-with-the-right-bar/
It was an issue with an older theme version, when the page was built with WPBakery. But this shouldn’t happen anymore in the latest theme and WPBakery.
It’s not my case because i didn’t use WPBakery and this problem is on posts, i use default site post template.
But like i said before i changed width of rows, now it’s like this:
.td-pb-span8 {
width: 70.17%;
}
.td-pb-span4 {
width: 29.83%;
}
But when sidebar gets sticky td-pb-span4 width becomes 324px which is 33.3%, not 29.83 as i was before.
I tried to use !important, but i didn’t help.
Could you check it please _https://davlenienorm.com/gipertoniya/fizicheskie-uprazhneniya.html
Seems there is a code that overrides the theme code for the span containers
– http://prntscr.com/mdn098 – http://prntscr.com/mdn0eu
Maybe this is coming from a child theme or the custom CSS section. Removing that code should preserve the width of the sidebar in sticky mode.
There would be no more need for such customizations in the code, now that the post templates can be designed with the tagDiv composer and cloud library plugin
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Here you can preview the available single templates and even edit them to see how they are built and what can be done
– https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
Yes, like i said before i added this code in order to get wider width of content part.
As far as i know even if i use tagDiv composer and cloud library plugin i can’t make content part wider, right?
That can be done, the row containing the post content can be stretched leading to columns being wider
– http://prntscr.com/me7lbp
For that to be possible a cloud template is needed – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Here you can see the available cloud post templates designed by us, preview and even edit them to see how they are made
– https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
There is also a blank template which will allow you to create your own post templates from scratch.
