Good day team,
Please I have issues with the social media counter. On my website, my actual facebook likes is 1652 but on the counter it is showing constantly 1597.
For Twitter, my actual on twitter is 295 but on my website it is showing 288
Same with Instagram
Please advise or fix.

The social counter is not a live counter and it is affected by cache. Please clear your cache from the plugin settings and allow it a few hours. We made it like this so it will not make too many requests to the server. It makes 3 or 4 per day and if you have a caching plugin, then the number will be delayed even more. You can try to reset your id’s in the counter (change them with other ones then switch back to your own id’s) and clear cache again and see if it picks up the correct number.

I have checked your website and I saw that your Facebook from social counter does not work properly and also I saw that you have an old version of Newspaper (6.5.1) Please make sure you have these requirements before further investigation is required:
1) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.6.3. If not, you need to follow this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
2) Having the latest version of the theme is not enough if you do not update the social counter as well. You need to remove the current version you use: http://screencast.com/t/4jvRwNzK and then install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.6.3 theme: http://screencast.com/t/9AKKURjTjX
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.
3)You need to follow this guide to get the requirements from facebook:

Please keep in mind that the social counter is not a live count. It will update once every few hours.
Once you followed all the above steps properly and made sure you have not missed anything, (and the social counter still does not work), then you can send an email to contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can further inspect the issue.

For more safety, we recommend you to do a backup before you start to do the upgrade. Please download the patch 6.5->6.6.2 which contain the modified files from 6.5 to 6.6.2 and then you should do the normal update from 6.6.2 to 6.6.3. The modified files from patch you have to replace to your old files.

After you have downloaded this patch you have to replace all the files of this with your old files from your directory. That’s it.

It seems something might have gone wrong when updating. Please make a fresh install via ftp by following this tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Your settings will not be affected as they are stored in the database. Simply download the latest version of the theme and install it directly.

My host support confirmed that they successfully updated through FTP, yet i feel no changes. The version still should 6.5.1
Please is there no way i can have this seamlessly done.
