the new feature ‘Directory Listings’ sounds very promising and I would like to use this feature to implement a fully working classified ad section, where visitors can publish their own ads.
Is this possible with the latest version? And if yes, you already provide a step by step guide to achieve this?

Yes, now this an be done, unfortunately, we do not have yet a guide step by step.
For this you need to use frontend submersion, cpt, taxonomies, acf …
I recommend to test is on localhost, staging or subdomain.
