Hello, I’m getting a critical error in Wordpres when trying to activate the mobile theme.
I have the 12.7.1 version of the theme, with the corresponding version of the mobile plugin.

Hi,
This is an old theme version. I suggest making a full backup of the website and updating the theme to version 12.7.3. After the theme is updated, make sure that all theme plugins that you are using are also updated. This should resolve the problem.

Before I do a pointless update, just to get to the same place, let me clarify something, please.
I am using the 12.7.1 version of the theme, and the 2.7 version of the plugin.
Now, the 12.7.1 version of the theme came packaged with the 2.7 version of the mobile plugin, so they should work together from the very beginning, no matter what updates are relased afterwards. I did install the latest version of the mobile plugin, out of curiosity, and got the same error.
Goind by this logic, is it possible to find a solution to this without having to go through the update process, and get to the same place ?

To make sure you understand exactly how theme plugins work, I’ll explain it to you as best I can:
Each version of the theme has a unique code, a unique code that is also assigned to the plugins in the theme for that version, so even if the version of a plugin is the same on multiple versions of the theme, it will only work with the version of the theme that has the same identification code. Now if you don’t know if the version you have is the one for the current theme, all you have to do is delete the plugin and reinstall it from the Newspaper > plugins section.

I downloaded the 12.7.1 version of the theme a few months ago, unarchived it, got the mobile plugin from that archive.

That method normally should work, but if is not, please try the method I mentioned, delete the plugins and reinstall them from Newsapper > plugins – https://i.imgur.com/wYk6ELT.png

Salut, redeschid topicul asta, pentru ca atunci am renuntat la idee, dar actualizand tema si pluginurile la cea mai recenta versiune, problema e fix aceeasi.

Buna,
Pare ciudat din start, nu ar avea ce cauta un functions.php in folderul themes. Acel fisier e normal in folderul temei din folderul themes, de ex:
Aici: www/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/functions.php
Nu aici: www/wp-content/themes/functions.php
Mai sunt si alte foldere cu tema Newspaper inafara folderului de themes? Daca sunt poate ca si backup, ar trebui downloadate si sterse de acolo.
Din cate vad site-ul pare sa arate si sa functioneze bine cu ultima versiune de tema. S-a rezolvat problema? Daca mai sunt probleme cel mai bine si mai rapid ar fi sa ma uit direct pe site, o sa am nevoie de un cont de admin si acces la FTP sau cPanel. Se pot trimite acestea pe mail la contact@tagdiv.com si ma uit cat mai repede posibil.
