Is there a way that on the Home page once I click on the Video button (on a Video Thumbnail), the Video can play here itself instead of going to the Single Post Page ??

No, that is not possible. That isn’t the actual video you set as featured in the post edit screen, it is a thumbnail image created from the video. Once you set a featured video and update the post, a thumb from the video will be set as featured image

A video icon is placed over that thumbnail to indicate the post has a video format.
The theme modules will only display thumbnails, not videos. You can find out more about this here for example

This is a major limitation for those who have Video sites which are embedded in Posts. Like films/Tv and entertainment sites etc. This makes the Theme pretty much unusable for these sites since one has to click and go see a Video in a single page post and them come back to Home page. There are Plugins available which can make this happen on the Home page itself eg Content View Pro. However, Newspaper is such a brilliant theme with so many other features that I will prefer to use this within the Theme.
Could someone write a small code to make this happen. Badly needed feature for Video sites.

The videos can be viewed when accessing the actual post, on pages there is a representation of the video. Unfortunately I don’t believe there are at this moment any plans to make modifications in this matter. But it may happen in the future. Sorry for any inconvenience.
If you want to have playable videos in pages, you could embed the videos or playlist directly, if you should consider it as a solution

Maybe you could suggest some plugin that could do this. It would be really helpful if the featured video plays on the homepage itself.
