Ok here’s my obvious query that how to properly update my theme without creating any mess? I remember the last time I updated my theme using Envato’s auto-updater plugin, my site went down and showed tons of fatal errors.
The problem was so intense that I had to do a clean WordPress install and installed theme after it (due to caching problems) lol.
So please suggest me a better and easy way to do this because this time my site is loaded with lots of customizations that I can’t risk to lose them at all!
And one more thing, does this update brought the child theme customization functionality over main theme support?

It is specified in the documentation how to update your theme(A, B, C) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also check this video for FTP update(if you update via FTP) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ you will not lose any customizations, settings from Theme Panel, but the files modifications will be lost as all the files will be overwritten. If you use child theme for files customizations you will have to check update_log.txt file for each update and see what files had been modified so if those specific files are used in the child theme you will have to check your customizations to not break the functionality of the theme.
