I am working on a draft and added a quote – looked fine when I wrote it, but when tried to use the quote feature in the top menu, it showed up in all caps – how do I fix?
my site is https://50Plus-today.com
this is a new issue, just started happening
Hello,
Please let me know a post that contains quotes. Here are displayed well -> https://i.imgur.com/1QiI82A.png
Thank you!
Yes, the quotes I included prior to the update are fine. When I create new posts is when they show up in all caps – here’s an example – https://50plus-today.com/make-friends-in-your-fifties/
Hello,
I saw that you use standard templates; I recommend using cloud templates because those are more flexible and have a lot of options.
For the issue with quotes, please use this code
.tagdiv-type blockquote p
{
text-transform:initial
}
Set the code in Theme panel>Custom code>Custom css
Thank you!
that worked, thank you. But it’s incredibly annoying that I had the site done just the way I wanted it – and spent a lot of time creating it – and then the update made numerous changes that I then have to either hire someone to fix (your fix for the change in color for the footer text did not work) or fix myself. Is this going to happen every time you put out an update? The template should have nothing to do with it – I shouldn’t need to purchase a cloud template – the site was fine as it was
Hello,
I recommend cloud templates because improvements will no longer be added to the standard pack plugin.
It also depends on how you updated the theme. Did you deactivate the extra plugins when you did the update?
Have you tried reimporting the settings before updating from the theme panel -> import/export?
Are you sure all the plugins you use are compatible with the theme?
Thank you!
what does this mean? My website is brand new – just finished 2 weeks ago. Will I no longer be able to update my site with your updates unless I purchase a cloud template? If I get a cloud template does that mean I have to hire someone again to redo the site?
Hello,
You do not need to buy a new license because the cloud template is included in the package.
More documentation about the cloud templates is here:

Thank you!
Hello,
No, you can only replace the templates with cloud templates that are similar to what you use.
Please check this video about how can create a prebuilt website from scratch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoGQ0d5kIBg
Thank you!
I HAVE TO CREATE A PREBUILT WEBSITE FROM SCRATCH????
MY website was completed 3 weeks ago – I PAID SOMEONE TO DO IT! DID YOU HAVE THE INFORMATION SOMEWHERE HE WOULD HAVE SEEN IT THAT THE SITE WOULD NEED TO BE REDONE USING A CLOUD TEMPLATE BECAUSE YOU WOULD NOT BE PROVIDING UPDATES FOR THE BASIC TEMPLATE??
Please explain further. I dont have the time, the skills or the funds to rebuild a new website from scratch using a new template. Will I be able download the new template to my existing site and it will function without my having to recreate it??
PLEASE EXPLAIN FURTHER
AND WHAT HAPPENS IF I DONT DOWNLOAD THE NEW TEMPLATE? WILL THE SITE MALFUNCTION IF I DONT INSTALL UPDATES BECAUSE THEY WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE FOR MY DESIGN?
This is information that should have been made very clear before my developer created my site
Hello,
I don’t understand your frustration, I just recommended and provided documentation and videos to help you understand how the theme works, but I guess you didn’t even check them. If you don’t want to use the Cloud templates, then you can use the standard templates, but as I mentioned, they don’t have as many options as the Cloud templates. We do provide updates for the theme, but we don’t add new functionalities for the standard templates. Now, if you want the website to remain as it was created, you can use it that way. To avoid any further misunderstandings, you can leave your site as it was originally created.
Have a great weekend!
So my question is, if I change to a cloud template will I have to redo the site? You’re correct, I did not check your video because that’s what it sounds like.
And yes, I misunderstood that you would not be supporting the original them any longer so thank you for the clarification
Hello,
You don’t need to redo the website; it’s fine as it is. If you want a cloud template, then yes, you’ll need to make a few adjustments, like adding your logo and menu. However, if you don’t want to, you can use the website as is without cloud templates. The developer who created your website probably didn’t know about these options, even though they’ve been available for a long time. I’m glad that you’ve finally understood that we will regularly update the theme, and these updates are for life, without the need to buy a new theme or anything else.
Thank you!
