Responsive issue in Dreamland PRO

Hi,
I seem to be facing issues with the responsive-ness of my theme on maverickmefoundation.com. I am using Dreamland PRO and have customized it quite a bit. I am not a developer, so have played around as I find Newspaper very easy now having used it on five websites.
But, it doesn’t show properly on mobile gadgets. The header logo, mobile menu and other text that I have flown on top get misplaced. I am not using tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin. Is that the reason?
TIA.

Hello Ritu!

Of course not. You can modify the mobile version in the tagdiv Composer in the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. You can see your mobile version there and edit or adjust the elements to look better. Also, you can have a completely different mobile page if you want this and re-build a mobile page. All about mobile pages here: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

Thank you!

Hey Bettina,

Yeah, I do that. But every time I move/reposition an element in mobile version, it moves in the main one too??

Please see here… https://maverickmefoundation.com.

So do you suggest I create a separate mobile page? I don’t want to do it, as then every time I will have to make changes twice over.

TIA.

Hello Ritu!

Yes, the responsive version is like that. Another workaround could be to hide an element in the desktop so it will appear only in the mobile viewport and reverse. But you can build your mobile pages as explained here: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages
There are only 3 options that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page. Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. You can see your mobile version there and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.

Thank you!

Hi,
My concern is that I just want all my pages to look exactly the same on web and mobile versions. I don’t want any different element. Exact copy, just aligned specific to the gadget accessed.
I tried to make mobile template for Home, there are a whole lot of changes necessitated. I am required to make all the pages. I don’t want to do that.
What’s the way out?
What if I give you access to WP? How do I do that? Please guide as I have been struggling with this for a few days now and I have to hand over the completed website to the owner.
TIA.
Ritu

Hi Bettina,
Thanks for the intervention at your end. Much appreciated.
Can I also request to know why the video used by me as the default video doesn’t play on mobiles devices. I have tried ticking the “Autoplay YouTube video on mobile” option also, but it didn’t work.
And, I am using Testimonials at the bottom of the page. Somehow, they are also not showing on the phone. I have checked the visibility in the mobile orientation and they are showing, but when I go to my handset they don’t show. All I can see is the header ‘Testimonials’.
Is there any way that I connect the Testimonials section on the website Home Page to my Facebook reviews so that I don’t have to update them every time? I tried using a widget but it doesn’t embed the Facebook link.
Please guide.
TIA
Ritu

Hello Ritu!

I can see that the video works well in the tagdiv Composer. The testimonials appear, which means something extra is interfering there, and the video is stopped on mobile, and the testimonials are not displayed. When you click on the white blank space, the testimonials appear, but the slide is not working responsively. I recommend you disable all the caching tools, including the ones from GoDaddy, and check if these features work correctly.
Maybe you can connect with some plugins or embed the code manually for each review.

Thank you!
