Simplifying Page Creation with Custom Templates

Hello, I’m looking to establish custom page templates to simplify the process of creating new pages on my website. Specifically, I aim to assign these custom templates to different page types, and I’d appreciate guidance on how to achieve this.

My website currently consists of four distinct page types, each of which has between 20 to 30 pages. The challenge I face is that I don’t want to manually edit each and every page to ensure a consistent look and functionality. Therefore, I’m interested in learning how to create custom page templates that can be applied to all pages of a given type, saving me considerable time and effort.

Could you please provide insights or instructions on how to create these custom page templates effectively?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello @astindia !

You can simply install a demo with the style already done. Or install different templates from the cloud library. Check out all our available demos: https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/newspaper-prebuilt-websites/
Also, you can create a page from scratch by installing a blank page and customizing it in the tagdiv composer. Please check out this video about how to create a website from scratch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoGQ0d5kIBg
Also, you can have multiple templates for posts and only one to be global.
All the cloud templates can be seen, edited, and duplicated in Dashboard -> Cloud Templates.
We recommend using cloud/PRO templates in order to have the possibility to edit them with the TagDiv Composer, which contains a lot of functions and features. Please check out our tutorial here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
More documentation about the cloud templates is here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-templates/

Please note that you can not assign a single template to a page, because it works only for the articles.

Thank you!

Is it possible to use the same custom page (which I created from scratch) for all subcategories?

Suppose you have two categories, “Animal” and “Bird.” “Animal” has 10 subcategories, and “Bird” has 20 subcategories. “Animal” has a different subcategory page design than “Bird’s” subcategories.

Hello @astindia !

Yes. You can assign the same template, make it global, and also view each page and set a template for each page. We have some filters that will dynamically take the posts from the current category and display them. So, you can use the same design with the same block, and the block will display the current category’s posts. You can assign or duplicate multiple templates. See https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/different-logo-in-categorypage/ for more information.

Thank you!
