The Social Counter is not pulling in the accurate number of followers.
Is there an update on this? It’s not pulling the up to date follower information.

It’s the social counter widget. This was working before and now it’s not working, it’s not pulling the up to date follower numbers on the social platforms, but it was before. So it seems there was an update to that social counter element. When can we expect it to be repaired?
I just want to update this based on my own testing.
If you enter the Instagram ID on its own (in my case “bestofnj”) the Follower count displays “0 Followers” and the social counter adds a “#” to the end of the url. The link still redirects to the appropriate page.
However, if you add either an “@” or “/” to the id (i.e. “@bestofnj” and “/bestofnj”), the correct follower count appears, but it breaks the link when attempting to click the follow button.
Hopefully there’s a fix for this soon. I’d like to properly display our follower count while also correctly linking to our Instagram account from the social counter. Right now, we have to choose between the two.

If you are using the social counter, youtube videos or Instagram, make sure that you set in theme panel the api key -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/instagram-widget/ also for YouTube you need to use an api key too -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/youtube-api-key/ after that the social counter should work -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
Also if you are using cache plugin, you need to clear all cache change the ids on counter for example on “envato” check the results and set back your social accounts.
If there is still a problem, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

So we’ve emailed the contact@tagdiv.com. The person said that they resolved one of our sites by clearing the server cache. However, we had done that before and it was still not working. We asked for further information as to what else was done. But a different person responded back and asked us for the same information cPanel and admin login again from the beginning. We seem to get a different person each time and the same instructions which we’ve done and it doesn’t solve it. But clearly something was done to solve it for 1 site. We have 80+ sites this is affecting and others have commented on this thread as well who are experiencing the issue. What besides the following steps need to be done to fix this, again we have 80+ sites this affecting and keep getting the run around.

Form what I know there were some changes made by Instagram.

Our developers are aware about this problem and try to find a way to get the feeds from Instagram and display it again.
Also the social counter is usually fix by clear the cache, if this is not working, you need to replace the social elements (with envato or example), save the changes clear all cache and check the results, after that set back your socials and clear the cake and check the results.

After the last changes from Instagram,. our developers managed to fix the problem with Instagram feeds, but for the moment using our Instagram widget to get correct number from Instagram is not working correctly, in most cases these data are not deliver because the theme do not have access to that api key.
Our team we’ll try to find an work around, until then the only way to display the number of Instagram is to set it manually in social counter or to use other social counter plugins, sorry for the inconvenience!

Is there an update on when the social counter will begin working again? The number of followers is still not pulling correctly and the instagram feed is not as well. This has been happening since June. Do you have an ETA on a fix and any additional information.
Hi cmc, there were few theme updates, unfortunately until now our developers didn’t get any reply form Instagram support for how to have access to there api to get all the data as before. Now I’m not sure , but is possible to be need for a implementation (to make some more api requests) to make this option to work again and this can slow the website.
Unfortunately I can not estimate a time when the fix will be provide, I just hope to be soon.
