Social

Good morning,

I launched my site yesterday, but when I try to share posts on Facebook and Twitter, the link display still says that the site is coming soon.

Is there a way to manually update this?

Additionally, how would I go about creating a custom side bar?

Or, how would I edit the default side bar that appears on article posts? My Twitter account for the social tracker is not updating, and I imagine it is because I must link it in this specific sidebar, but I can’t find access to it.

Thanks,
Daniela

Hi Daniela,
The social issue is caused by cache. You can remove the coming soon messages by clearing all caches whether it’s a plugin cache, hosting cache or a cdn server.
As for the sidebar, you can edit the sidebar from the wordpress widgets area: http://screencast.com/t/Rk1nRlQ3rGQ or create a new custom sidebar using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/
For the social counter, please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial/
Thank you!

Thank you so much!

I cleared my browser cache, but it’s still happening. How would I go about clearing any hosting/plugin or server caches?

Thanks!

Hi,
The browser cache is not the cause of this. You need to clear the cache from your cache plugin (depending on what you use)For that please check the plugin settings. As for the cdn if you are not aware of what that is, you are probably not using it (if you are the one that set-up the domain, hosting and other settings fr your site)
For the caching we recommend wp super cache. If you use any other plugin, please first clear the cache from the plugin settings and then remove the plugin and install wp super cache and use this guide to set it up: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Thank you!

Thanks for your help, but I do not currently have a cache plug in.

My plug ins are Jetpack by WP and the visual composer. I did not manually install a cache plug in.

Is there one that is automatically installed? Or lives within my existing plug ins?

Thanks!

Hi,
You will have to contact your host and ask if there is any caching on the server itself and information about how to clear it. Please also disable your maintenance mode/coming soon plugin.
Thank you!

I already contacted my host and was told that there are no server caches for my account.

How would I go about disabling my maintenance mode / coming soon plug in? Is this something that is automatically installed somewhere? I don’t see this option in my plug ins and I am still having the same problem sharing on social channels.

Thanks,

Hello,

Our theme does not come with any maintenance mode so it has to be a plugin. Please check your plugins section and disable any plugin you do not know about or do not plan on using. http://screencast.com/t/whT5TUEq29C
As for the social counter, please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial/

Thank you!
