I’m currently running Newspaper version 9 on my site and when I try to edit the homepage with td composer, the page doesn’t load. Can you please help me?
Thank you

Hi,

So you have problems using the composer. The first thing to check would be the theme requirements, system status section
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
It is imperative that the parameters mentioned in the guide are configured properly. Insufficient resources can cause many issues with the theme or the plugins, if needed ask your hosting provider to increase them as specified. Then check if the issue is solved, chances are it will be.

If there is no need for modifications in that matter, in some cases the solutions from these topics worked for composer problems, you could give them a try if possible
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/ (this worked in many cases)
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/javascript-error-td-composer-wont-load/

Let us know if any of these suggestions fixed the problem and which one, or the problem remains.

Thanks

Thanks for your suggestions. However, TD Composer was working just an hour or so ago and now it isn’t. Getting a message,

“This page isn’t working hcmtnewtheme.wpengine.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500”.

I’ve only been working on making changes to fonts, colors, etc.

Help!

Hi,

@lynnegoldman
In similar cases 500 errors were provided if the WP memory was exhausted. Increasing it solved the problem, you could try the same.
In the requirements guide from above there are methods specified for increasing the memory.
Or contact the hosting provider and they will do it for you. For most cases a value of 256M is sufficient.

Try it and let us know the result.
Thanks

Hi Simion,

My host (WPEngine) increased the limit to 512M and it has not fixed the issue.

Suggestions?

thanks,
Lynne

Also, here is what WPEngine did to try to fix the problem:

here’s what I’ve added into the .htaccess file to test
php_value memory_limit 512M
php_value post_max_size 200M
php_value max_input_vars 5000
php_value max_execution_time 60
php_value upload_max_filesize 200M

More info from the tech at WPEngine on what he tried:

“At this point we’d want to have the techs at TagDiv provide additional solutions, as we’re not getting any php fatal errors on the server side with that 500 error, and we’ve increased the php memory and other values”

Hi,

Try the solution from this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/

If that has no effect, we could take a look as well. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible so we can investigate.

Please include a link to this topic in the email.
