Hi,
We have a news portal that still has version 7. We are about to remove the old version and install the latest one.
For that reason, we created a beta version of our news portal where we are making all the theme setting that the production portal should have.
Is it possible to transfer these settings to our production portal after deleting the old theme version and installing the latest one or we should make all the setting from scratch?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Yes you can transfer the theme settings to other theme, for this you need to use the Import / Export theme settings -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/07Kn1tTlPLdK
But be note that from Newspaper 7 to newspaper 9.5 are a lot of improves and features, so will be great if yo’ll do those settings in the last version, here you can see all changes
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/VrFowwuw
-> https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609?s_rank=1
You can use the licence only for one final/online product, for more details please check our documentation -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-how-to-activate-the-theme/
-> https://themeforest.net/licenses/standard
-> https://themeforest.net/licenses/terms/regular
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi Calink,
Thank you for your informative response.
We are going to DELETE the previous theme version and INSTALL the most recent one.
Then, we will import the settings from the beta version of our website (which is 9.5) to the production website.
Is this a safe way to transfer our settings?
Hi,
If you make an update to the theme all settings from theme panel will remain, only the changes from theme files will be override
How to update the theme -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
We recommend to be made via FTP.
Thank you!
Dear Calin,
As I previously stated, we are going to delete the old theme. The process will be:
1. Deleted the theme from the production site
2. Export the theme’s setting from the beta website which has already installed the latest version
3. Install the theme’s latest version to the production site
4. Import the settings from the beta site to the production site
My question is simple: will this work?
