I have modified my theme; however, I cannot save the changes. Instead, it requires me to update my theme from 8.2 to 8.6. If the update is mandatory, please advise me whether there is any fee charged.

Please also make sure you update the plugins as well. Delete the current theme plugins you have installed and install them again from the latest theme package.
Also in the current version, please make sure your theme name is Newspaper. The current theme version does not support a theme name change.

@Fitore Gashi Most of the time this happens due to insufficient resources. Please check the theme system status

Ask your hosting provider to increase the parameters mentioned in the guide if necessary, then check if the panel saves properly.
In some cases this has been caused by security plugins or server firewall configurations. Check in the browser console while saving a setting if errors appear

what can i do now to fix the problem?
I would suggest to deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, deactivate the child theme if used. Check or remove temporarily any custom code you might have added in the theme custom code sections, or directly in the theme files.
Ultimately try to reinstall the theme by FTP if possible
