I am now back to 12.6.4 but no return to normal

Hi
I installed again 12.6.5 but now I have a default header and default menu.
I tried to reactivate the header template but if I refresg the page ano effect.
I reactivated the footer template. It came back to normal.
All other templates are deactivated.

Some of my customisations – mainly titles – of Title with Text have changed
Color of the button of “Call to Action” is blue which is a default color in newspaper theme.
Same for “Social icons” : icons are blue.
On the Homepage (https://www.stefanegirard.fr/) a code appears : [td_block_big_grid_fl_2 sort= »modified_date » category_ids= »-1405″]
instead of the grid.

and above all I have this message in my back office:
UNREGISTERED
Your Newspaper Theme license is not registered yet

Hello,

Please activate the tagdiv Cloud Library plugin and tagdiv Standard Pack plugin.

Thank you!

– Title with Text, Call to action, Social icons blocl still modified

AN update for Newspaper; You are using version 12.6.5. Update to version 12.6.6.: Shall I update?
Still a message: our license of Newspaper Theme is not registered!
Shall I activate my theme again?

Hello,

The latest version is 12.6.6. If you want to make the update, I recommend disabling the extra plugins during the update process.
Yes, you need to activate the license on the website.

Thank you!

What about:
Title with Text, Call to action, Social icons block still modified

And all the settings in the Theme Panel are gone, custom css included!

Hi,

In the worst cases, the settings in the theme panel may be lost (there have been isolated cases), in these cases, after the theme plugins that were previously used are activated, you will have to use a backup for the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/

Thank you!

Hi
I have a backup limit to 5 that cannot be changed – the number is grey.
The oldest backup is today at 11:06. How to get one from yesterday?

Hello!

It’s alright if there is no issue on this backup.
For every update, we always recommend the following:
-> First of all, please make sure you have a backup.
-> Please deactivate all the non-tested plugins with our theme before updating.
-> Update WordPress, PHP, the theme, and plugins to the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/.
-> Check all these requirements for the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

Thank you!

Hi Bettina
I do not understand your answer.
I have issues since updating 12.6.5. Still issues seen on my website:
Title with Text, Call to action, Social icons block modified.
And all the settings in the Theme Panel are gone, custom css included.

But if I want to use a backup in Import/Export I need to have access to a backup on the 20th of May but the limit of the backup there is 5 that cannot be changed – the number is grey.
Question remain: How to get one on the 20th of May?

Couple quick notes on “being prepared” when doing updates to Theme:
a) you should make manual backups of your dbase via hosting panel, AND via the WordPress ‘export’ function prior to any updates, including WordPress core – theme does not manage that for you; no theme does
b) you should put some custom code in the WordPress > Appearance > Customiser when possible as this lives outside theme, so will not die with a broken update
c) you should copy paste custom code for widgets, footer elements, and CSS into separate text file for ease of rebuild when an error
d) you should make a ‘map’ of your custom home page elements, such as rows and modules and settings for each (e.g., category ID, skip IDs, etc)

Just some feedback for newer WordPress users. This kind of planning will really save you from going nuts if there is hiccup during any update of anything.

🙂 Chris
