Update to Newspaper 7 has crashed my visual composer

Hi,

I tried to do the update for Newspaper 7 this morning on one of my websites. After doing so visual composer stopped working. I updated it to the version that came in the download package but still not luck. I have reverted back to the older version of the theme but the problem is still persisting. Do you know why this might be?

Hello,

The shortcodes you see are there because you do not have the visual composer plugin activated at the moment. Please activate the plugin so the shortcodes can get rendered. Also you need version 4.11.2 of visual composwer if you use version 4.5 of wordpress. There was a conflict between wordpress and visual composer under version 4.9
You can use this guide to update the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then this one to update visual composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/. Please also update your social counter plugin as the old one will not work in newspaper 7.
