i just purchased and downloaded Newsmag and the version of Visual Composer that is included is v4.6.2.
According to this post:

there is a newer version, but i don’t see any way to update my current version
this page says to upload the newest version from the theme plugins, but that is what i already did:

i am having trouble getting the FB page plugin to work

the strange thing is that it shows up in the admin in Visual Composer, but not on the frontend page

A good place to start with Newsmag is with the theme docs; see right side of page; this covers things like the tested-bundled version of Visual Composer:

as i said in my post, i already did that and the version of visual composer that i just downloaded is 4.6.2.
do you not supply upgrades to 4.7.1 at this time?
if not, is there a fix to trying to get the fb plugin to display on the page?
From the above linked page:
•We provide updates on a regular basis, after we test the plugin for theme compatibility we include it in the latest theme update, inside the ../plugins folder
So, presumably that means that TagDiv will include the updated version of the VC plugin in the next update once the version is fully tested as compatible and without major bugs. Just because something is updated doesn’t always mean that you need to update it to use it.
I don’t work here, just some food for thought.

The current version of Newsmag theme have included version 4.6.2 of Visual Composer plugin. This post https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/fb-not-sharing-post-featured-image-or-post-title/ refers at Newspaper theme which have V 4.7.1.1 of VC
We will release an update for Newsmag theme soon, which will include and the latest version of Visual Composer and also new features.
