Does visual composer plugin need to be activated for the newspaper theme to function or is this plugin ONLY needed to build the theme?….thanks

Hello,
The plugin comes free bundled with the theme and there is no need to register it as you have access to all of it;s functionality. You can read more about this here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Yes but does it have to be running? Can it be dis-activated without any harm to website? I find it resource hungry and a memory hog.

nevermind I figured it out. you need it activated for the theme to preform.
