Basically the Visual Composer content that normally appears when I go to EDIT a page, such as the ‘Front Page’ is no longer there. There is only a Visual Composer title area but none of the buttons or features work. And again, there is no content, so that I cannot EDIT and change the page… What is wrong? Bottom line, the on ‘Pages’ Editor it looks as if VC is there but really it’s not and nothing works…

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) and also, the latest version of Visual Composer (4.11.2) and Social Counter (4.0). Try to clear all your caches and test it again and check the results. Also, if your problem will be still there, please try to make a new clean install with the latest version of the theme and Visual Composer, via FTP and check how it goes the theme with the default state.

So I tried to reupload the theme and it failed because the “Destination Folder Already Exists”… How am I supposed to install the the theme “Update”? I’m on version 6.6.5. Should I expect that every time you do an update the theme is going to have these types of problems? Should I uninstall the previous version and then reinstall it from scratch? What do I do now?…
Also, I’m not an advanced user. You say “Clear all your caches”. You mean the browser cache? What “caches” exactly are you speaking about.

Please use the ftp method as it;s the easiest and safest way. you can simply delete the theme folder and replace it with the new one. copy and paste…that’s it as no settings will get lost. Make sure you have version 4.11.2 of visual composer for it to work properly.

If you have newspaper 4, then you will have to delete your current theme and install newspaper 7 from scratch as it will be like switching to a different theme. Bogdani updated my theme to newspaper 7 . made a fresh copy but im still unable to see visual composer content. if i go into classic view i can see the content
