TagDiv Team, i love Newspaper template but since last update i f**#%&$%* newspaper theme 🙂
Title structure its broken in entire site, and something like that can damage very seriusly in Google search results. Obviusly i go back to 6.1 when i notice this problem.
Inmediatly before update to 6.2 my sitemap was sended to google (because i use yoast seo like every wordpress user) the problem is, in my site i work only whit organic traffic and now i have over 7900 internal pages whit wrong title INDEXED in GOOGLE!!!!
I Mean, each user of newspaper 6.2 just f**k your own site ahead of google 😛 and i am very worried about how it will affect my website ranking in the coming days for changing the structure.
I suggest to remove 6.2 update as soon as possible to prevent breaking the customers sites. Many Newspaper users make money with google adsense but a SEO mistake like this will make us earn less money 🙁 and it is not something easy to fix
Do you know how I revert the update once it´s already been made? Having the same problems… :-/
Just went in to the Envato backupfolder, extracted the backup, deleted the whole Newspaper-folder on my FTP and copied the old version from the zip back on. Everything seems to be working.
Was this the right way to do it? :-/
I have never seen such a fail in launching a product/version. This is amazing !

for example in my site http://herencia.net with 6.2 version the wordpress SEO plugin doesn’t run correctly.
I have two sites with newspaper theme and one site i don’t update that often anymore with new content, eventually I’m going to merge it into my main site. I upgraded it to 6.1 a week or so ago, tonight i rolled it back to version 4. Just too many bugs in 6, needs more testing. No way am I going to upgrade my main site anytime soon.
Among other things the site speed decreased over 10% on the same content.

I followed the instructions to update to version 6 too. The problem is, that it is not really an update, it is installing another, supposedly better version by overwriting the new version. A lot of settings (such as menus and sidebars) did not migrate, which has to be adjusted manually. I was not able to configure the big slide header the way I had it on the previous so I decided to go back to v4.
I would consider upgrading again to v6 when it is really an update and I can choose which features I want changed on my blog or not.

I’m sorry that you had those issues in version 6 of the theme. Newspaper 6 should be regarded as a new theme, it was practically rewritten so all customizations(files, css) from version 4 will not work and you will have to make these modifications again. We made a script that if you run it after update it will import from database olde settings, the shortcodes.. like you can see in the documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Unfortunately you will have to re-add your widgets in the sidebars as some of them may not be imported or don’t exist anymore, also they will become inactive.
I’m not sure what was the issue with Big Slider, as you can see on our demo Big Grid Slider(like on Newspaper4) is still available – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/ also we added more Big Grid blocks(these are not sliders).
