Hello,
after updating today Newspaper via Envato-Market-Plugin from 7.4 to 7.5. the website http://www.cadzand-online.de crashed.
It`s not possible to login via wp-admin or to manage via wp-dashboard – so we have a big problem with not having the website and the shop…
Please help us to fix the problem asap…

Update via ftp and dont use that crappy plugin to update… seriously it fails on so many servers it should be outlawed!
Hi, thanks, okay, I can install the new theme via ftp, but i`m not any more able to login in the wp-admin…so I can not do this step: “Activate the newly installed theme by going to Appearance > Themes and clicking the Activate button”. What I can do?

Unfortunately we are not the plugin creators so we cannot say for sure how it works or how it doesn’t. We added it to our list as it’s an envato solution but as Chris says, FTP is the best method to update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

When I install the update via FTP, will I be able to login again via “wp-admin”? Because now a login is not possible..

We recommend it as it is running fine but it sometimes gets overloaded on too many requests. These things happen in the web environment more than we like to and since we sell our themes on envao and envato has a theme updater plugin, it’s on every envato theme update documentation. It is not mandatory to be used though which is a good thing 🙂

its always better to update theme via ftp rather than from wp-admin
If you cannot login, then via ftp do this:
a) rename /wp-content/plugins — to xplugins
b) delete all theme folders except for the stock twenty-sixteen
c) then login
d) then go to appaarance > themes, and change theme to twenty-sixteen
e) rename plugins folder back
f) only activate necessary plugins
g) install theme and plugins fresh, via FTP
once theme working
a) resave permalinks
b) use wp-optimize plugin to optimize your WP dbase
Hi, we have checked the problem. It was caused by the tagdiv Plugins woocomerce Label and invoice which we have installed from newspaper 6! They seems to be not compatible with the current version of newspaper 7.5…

Unfortunately the 2 plugin were discontinued and are no longer supported. Please do not use the plugins in the current version of the theme.
