These problems can be related to some old versions of the theme. From what I can see you are using an very old version of Newsmag theme -> https://i.imgur.com/OIgFC7I.jpg also the version of WordPress seems to be old, what you should do is to make a full backup to your website and make the theme and WordPress update -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
Also if you want you can make first the update in a staging site, because there are some changes since Newsmag v3.1

How should I make the first update in a staging site? Does that mean on my server? Sorry am I little confused…

The idea is to make first time the update on a copy of your website, not on the live one, in this way if there are some problems those will not affect your live website.
The copy can be made on sub-domain or localhost, we suggest if you can to make it on sub-domain, in this way, if there are some problems you can access and investigate the problems.

I have updated the theme.
I am encountering an error when using the tagdiv composer on the homepage.

This is preventing me from updating the homepage. Can you advise how I should correct?
Also how do I change the font style/size of the related articles, and also below images in the sidebar.

In most cases the TD Composer is not working when is a plugin conflict or is a code set in the page that breaks the TD Composer -> functions.
