Hi,
The website freezes after aprox. 30 seconds and i get a pop-up to either ‘kill the page’ of ‘wait’.
I’ve tried disabling all plugins instead of the TagDiv ones but the error continues. I also removed any caching plugins or security plugins but also no difference. Could you please have a look? I can’t seem to locate what is causing this error.
Sorry,
The website i’m refering to is https://www.defensiebond.nl/
If you want i can also give you access to the admin dashboard.
Hello!
Unfortunately, I can’t see this effect to your website.
Make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Also, please do a test using only tagdiv plugins and check if the problem persists.
Thank you!
Hey Bettina,
It’s been two months and we still have the same weird error. After aprox. 30 seconds the homepage freezes (result code hung). I’ve tried all sorts of things:
– Disabling all plugins
– Checking for buggy javascript
– Checking the console
– Moving to a different server
I did found at tough that after disabling the TagDiv composer plugin the homepage doesn’t seem to freeze anymore. Could you please have another look on what can be done about this problem?
Thank you!
Hi Breinblik,
Please make a full backup for your website and please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide temporary wp-admin access to the website we’ll take a better look. Also, please include the link of this topic to can identify you faster.
Thank you!
Hi thanks for looking into that! It seems to be fixed, thank you!
However there’s another problem now with the menu:
It says (index):551 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined in the console
/* global jQuery:{} */
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
var tdbMenuItem = new tdbMenu.item();
tdbMenuItem.blockUid = 'tdi_1';
tdbMenuItem.jqueryObj = jQuery('.tdi_1');
tdbMenuItem.isMegaMenuFull = true;
tdbMenuItem.megaMenuLoadType = '';
tdbMenu.addItem(tdbMenuItem);
});
This happens when i try to click an item in the menu which isn’t clickable anymore
Hello,
The menu doesn’t work because you have here a code that blocks clicking on it https://i.imgur.com/3kuRotQ.png please check in the theme panel -> custom code -> custom css or live css and delete the code and check after.
Thank you!
Hi! thanks for your response.
I’ve looked trough my CSS modifications but the pointer-events: none; isn’t anywhere. It’s also not in my header.php (child theme) and other CSS files in my child theme folder. I guess it’s from another plugin? Also i noticed that when i’m logged in at WP-admin the menu works just fine but if i visit the website without being logged in the menu stops working and the list-items have an additional class called “inactive”.
I can try to override the pointer-events: none; with my custom CSS what attribute does ‘pointer-events’ need to have in order for it to work? I think we also need to solve the ‘inactive’ class being added to the list-items.
Hi,
Please check this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/autoptimize-install-configuration/ to configure it to work with the theme.
Thank you!
Hello Breinblik,
I just checked the website and now it seems to be ok, maybe the problem appears only when the server is overloaded. What I can suggest is to check the logs, also you can enabled the error log file to see from where to start to investigate.
Also, using a cache plugin and CDN will reduce the server requests and make the website faster –
Thank you!
Hi Calin!
Thanks for your reply. I’ve installed WP Fastest Cache.
People are still complaining to me that the website(homepage only?) freezes after ±30 seconds. I noticed tough it doesn’t seem to happen on my iphone.
