Hi,

I have contacted the support to help me with the speed of my website.
My site is incredibly slow. I have followed the instruction in the documentation by uploading the WP super cache and setting it as it is shown in the documentation.

I have uploaded the latest version of the Newspaper as well as the plugins that are included in the theme.

I also asked my hosting to increase the space in the WP-config. to 64MB, which they did and with all this, my website is still really slow.

I can’t work this way because it takes me ages to edit a page and it is really bad for the user and the SEO, well I am sure you know what I am talking about.

The result after uploaded the WP super cache on the “PageSpeed Insights” is 54/100, which is extremely slow!
I really need help with that, please.

Thank you

Hello yachtsailingcharter,

First of all, please ensure that your hosting provider has the minimum requirements for the server in order to achieve best results with our theme. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also, if these conditions are checked, the theme should work as expected with our theme. Also, if you want to increase your load speed, please check our tutorial in this regard, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Please notice that this tutorial is addressed only for advanced users and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry! It is very important to use only our tested plugins to rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your understanding!

I’d suggest installing two plugins that can help as well as remove WP Super Cache. I use the premium version of Fastest Cache but the free one works well. Also remove photon or anything else in JetPack if you are have it installed.

1. Remove query strings from static resources
2. WP Fastest Cache

Attach MaxCDN (it’s cheap) to WP Fastest Cache and your site will improve more.
Remove anything Google (analytics, etc). This slows things way down.

Finally, run P3 Profiler: https://wordpress.org/plugins/p3-profiler/ to find any plugins causing an issue.

I haven’t installed the speed booster plugin because that looks complex but it’s next on my list.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

Thank you for the suggestions. I am going to try these plugins hoping it will help me:)
As far as I know I didn’t install the JetPack, but maybe it is in my theme and I am not aware of it:)
I am really tempted to install the speed booster, but I am afraid it will make some damages:(
If you do, tell how it was:)

I will also try other plugins like Zen cache, I was using it in my precedent theme and absolutely loved it.

However, thank you very much!

You can also test your page at GTMetrix.com – test a post, not home page. This will provide more help on how to optimize your site if new to WP.

Also, see my tutorial in the help > DIY > best of forums, for extended optimization for things like time to live, gzip/deflate — these alone are good for 20 points for pagespeed insights.

It’s a process to optimize your site if you choose to use complex “magazine” style theme. It’s very simple with non complex textual site/blog layouts.

So, expect to spend some time – there is no “one click” solution.

Thank you very much, Chris.

Can you just send me a link to the tutorial, please because I don’t find it? I am new here and don’t know much about technical issues.

Thank you again!

I haven’t tried Zen Cache — which is now Comet Cache.

Maybe I’ll give it a try to see how things work.
